Whitney Thompson My Life As a Cover Girl: Episode #1 & #2

September 4, 2008 by Erin Balser

Since I live in Canada, I’m not lucky enough to see the My Life as a Covergirl commercials until they hit YouTube the next day. Since last night was a two-hour premiere, Whitney Thompson, the winner of the last cycle, got two commercials. Ooh la la.

Here’s her first commerical, and it’s all about Whitney leaving home to follow her dreams. I like the concept and the aesthetic (although it’s a bit Eloise to me!) and frankly, I was expecting worse from Whitney.

What do you think? Is Whitney a true Covergirl?

You don’t have to answer that now–we still have her second commercial to look at! This one is about making an impression and casting calls, and Whitney decides to do make her impression like dressing like she’s in 1984. Seriously, whose idea was that hat?

So, what do you think?

I saw it as well, she looked great and it wasn’t over the top. The first one was so soft. And Erin, I didn’t know you live in canada, so do I. Luckily I have rogers digital cable so I get CW. Well I had to activate the channel.

  2. Erin says:

I agree, it was far, far better than what I was expecting.

    Yup, I live in Toronto.

I’m so jealous you have CW! I just watch ANTM on the A Channel.

I like the new feel and sound of Whitney’s “My Life” commercials. They’re softer, less grating on the nerves and more feminine then Janslene’s, and less bubble gum fake than Salisha’s. I’m so proud of Whitney.
By the way you can catch the “MY Life” spots on the CW website right after the show, on the Top Model page. I you can’t find it just Google “America’s Next Top Model” and click on the one with CW in the URL. The coolest part you cn even go back all the way to cycle 6 and see every “My Life” spot from Dani on up.

  4. Kelly says:

Is the new voiceover format a reflection of how bad Saliesha’s commercials were, or how how bad Whitney was when they tried to do the “sit on a chair and talk to the camera” thing with her?

I like the new format, though.

I think Whitney did a great job. the commercial was far better than Saleisha… honestly I think she made that season become a waste of time. Jenna or Heather would have been far better winners.

  6. Top model addict says:

I agree that it was much better than Saleisha’s. Saleisha’s was horrendous. Whitney didn’t sound fake like she usually does, so the whole production team did a good job.

  7. Ashlee says:

I didn’t mind Saleisha’s – I thought she just always sounded excited, she wanted it bad, ahah. Anyway, Whitney’s are good, a better tone to them than usual, but I agree, the clothes are horrendous.

  8. Katie Vorhees says:

wihtney do has a good tone to hers voices. she wears the hatses tat make hers look biggers.

  9. Jane says:

They are pretty good, but sometimes they are too commercial, like the falling on the bed thing
