Whitney Thompson Interviewed by Celebs Gone Good
Celebs Gone Good caught up with Cycle 10 winner Whitney Thompson at the premier of Nigel Barker’s photography exhibit, “A Sealed Fate.” Whitney mentions that she recently adopted a puppy from The Humane Society–and named it Fiona!
She talks to them about supporting animal rights, her new puppy, being ANTM’s first plus-sized model, and more.
“I mean it’s obviously incredibly messed up what’s going on in the world, and I obviously don’t support it; and I think it’s so great that Nigel got involved (he’s such a great guy). So I thought, you know, I would support him,” Whitney said, when asked why she attended the show. “And I absolutely care about animal rights. I love The Humane Society; I just got a puppy from them. Her name’s Fiona. And so you know, whatever I can do.”
Other than the puppy, there’s nothing new or exciting in the interview. She brings up her 13-year-old cousin again, and while I appreciate the sentiment behind the story, I’m sick of hearing about it.

Ugh. Like I said in every of my comment of her interview, I just hate hate hate HATE how she puts down girls that are just skinny. Being a skinny girl doesn’t always mean eating disorder and unhealthy. But she just has this prejudice that if you are not at least her size, you have an eating disorder and are a bad role model for her 13 year old cousin.
Even Erin O’Connor said that most girls in the modelling industry are just naturally skinny. But there are some who are not naturally skinny, are only those girls are actually struggling with their weight.
The whole weight standard thing is just stupid. Fat girls are told to lose weight, and skinny girls are told to gain more weight. Give us a break. I am naturally skinny, thank you. And thank God I am not from America as I don’t eat junk foods like most Americans do. No offense intended. I just need to get my points out.

^^ I agree with what you said: it’s so irritating how she puts thin people down. She gloats about not going to the gym and how boring it is. Well, not everyone agrees with her. For me, going to the gym is a great stress reliever and I feel refreshed afterwards. I look forward to going to the gym because the results are so rewarding. And no, I don’t starve myself. I eat well balanced, healthy, low-fat meals and I enjoy leading a healthy lifestyle. She equates plus sizes as being healthy. She whines how skinny people put her down. Well, she’s doing the exact same thing saying that skinny is evil and fat is good. Please, I’m so over her.

Although Whitney may be ANTMs first plus-size model winner, she is not the first plus size they’ve had on the show. Toccara Jones, from cycle 3, was the first on the show and looks way better. Additionally, she has a better attitude and is encouraging young girls to embrace how they look, both big and small. Being naturally skinny is not unhealthy. Being plus size also does not mean you are healthy. Bragging about not going to the gym shows her ignorance. You can be a size 14 and still keep in shape by working out and eating healthy.
