Tyra Banks on Cover of Harper’s Bazaar

August 6, 2008 by Erin Balser

35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards - Show

Tyra Banks is on the cover of the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar and, as rumored, she poses as for the inner editorial spread.

Tyra attempts to explain why she chose to dress as Michelle for the shoot.

“With Barack Obama, his becoming president is them becoming president because Michelle was there from the beginning,” she says in the article. “Without Michelle, he wouldn’t be there … Michelle Obama, you’re one hot mama.”

Tyra also reveals that her Secret Service acronym would be KMFA: Kiss My Fat Ass, talks about the first time she met Barack Obama, how she’s trying to get Michelle to come on her talk show, her career, and much more. It’s a revealing article and Harper’s Bazaar did a grat job covering lots of different topics and material.

Read the entire article here. They also have a slideshow of the Michelle Obama shoot, which you can look at here.

Tell me what you think. Is the shoot classy? Or campy? Was it a good way for Tyra to pay homage to one of the most exciting First Lady prospects to come along in a while, or does it devalue Michelle, Barack’s campaign and Tyra’s support for the couple?

The idea was a little iffy to me, but when i saw the photos, I actually liked it. I thought Tyra did a good job, I was hoping she wouldn’t go all model-smile with your eyes, but she didn’t she looked soft and beautiful, I love it. It’s classy and high respectful.
