Tyra Banks Is Richest Prime Time Earner
According to Forbes, Tyra Banks is the highest paid woman on prime-time television, bringing in over $23 million dollars last year.
The credit her success to her work on both sides of the camera, as well as the many more fans her daytime talk show has brought her. Tyra’s got several projects on the go, has a new development deal with Warner Bros. and is even working on a direct-to-DVD line of movies for teens. If she wasn’t the richest lady in prime time, she’d definitely be the busiest.
Rounding out the list after Tyra was Heidi Klum, Katherine Heigl, Eva Longoria Parker, Maura Tierney, Mariska Hargitay, Marg Helgenberger, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Paula Abdul, Tina Fey, Vanessa Williams, Calista Flockhart, Kathryn Morris, Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, Linda Cardellini, Melina Kanakaredes, Patricia Arquette, Ellen Pompeo, and Felicity Huffman.
The most interesting part of this list? Just how much more money Tyra makes than the rest of the ladies above. Heidi Klum was second, and she raked in $14 million–that’s $9 million less than Tyra!
I guess it goes to show that being behind the camera pays far greater than being in front of it.
