Transgendered Model to Compete on ANTM

Tyra Banks has always been about pushing the envelope. This season will be another top model first–Isis, a 22-year old receptionist will be the first-ever transgendered competitor on ANTM.
Isis speaks this week exclusively to US Weekly. She isn’t looking to be a role model or break any modeling barriers–she just thinks “her cards were dealt differently.”

“I’m here to follow my dreams,” she tells the tabloid.
Her presence on the show is making several people very happy, including GLAAD. They are really excited about this “unprecedented opportunity for a community that is underrepresented on television.”
“We applaud Tyra Banks and The CW for making this historic visibility of transgender people possible,” their president, Neil Giuliano said.

I think this is great news, and Isis looks fierce! Kudos to Tyra and the CW for their open-mindedness.
Well that is really great, I applaud Tyra and her top model staff, and CW for being so open about it all. I just hope it isn’t made a big deal on the show, She should be treated like another contestant. She shouldn’t be exploited.
Hey I’ve got a question hoping someone can answer! Is she pre-op or post-op. I imagine some things would be hard to do pre-op.
To tell you the truth, it sure took a long time for this to happen. ANTM will never be the same. Then again Tyra maybe cycle 12 will only be transgender and they can compete against themelves as oppose to gg.
the contestants look kinda demented but the one that standsout the most to me is samantha as she looks ALOT like a porn star in the picture there but i’m not one of those irratating haters of tyra and her brilliant works in fact i consider myself as one of tyra’s BIGGEST FAN EVER!!! that’s just my opinion but i dont know i have a feeling that the challenges and all are going to be off the hook flawless.
P.s. i was googling tyra’s pictures on google’s image search and on the second page, there’s tyra in a fish net shirt,not wearing anything underneath it O.o can someone go and see and see if it really is tyra cos through that top,you can really see her tits plus hernipples if that really is her.
Jane: To answer your question, it has been confirmed that Isis is pre-op, so if Tyra has them do anything like swimsuits, we’re in for a show! But anyways, I hope the girls in the house don’t treat her like an outcast just for being transgendered. And being pre-op doesn’t help the matter.
Thanks Shelly! I imagine it will be tough for her! Luckily, she is not built like a man, but every season they usually have some risque outfits and that won’t be easy. She probably will be ostracized just because thats how girls are. It is bad for her but we can’t change it.
I bet they only let her in to create some kind of storyline. Still, it’ll be interesting to watch anyway.
I met Isis threw facebook…she’s an awesome person and if you saw her as a boy you would have still thought man SHE LOOKS LIKE A WOMAN!!!…She is beautiful and its about time something like this has happened…this isn’t too cause drama or to make the show different but to just make the show real Life …Truth is …this is just the first time this has happened in tv but this has been happening in real life…and Truth is there are so many transgender Models modeling now …She is just the first not ashamed of bieng on tv to say it !!!!Lets just be real!!!
