Top Models on Metro Style

November 17, 2008 by Erin Balser

whitneythompsonmetrostyle1.jpgDani Evans, winner of Cycle 6, Jaslene Gonzalez winner of Cycle 8, Saleisha Stowers, winner of Cycle 9 and Whitney Thompson, winner of Cycle 10 are modeling for MetroStyle.

Whitney makes an appearance in their Misses section, first, modeling a double-breasted silver blazer that’s $59.99.

It’s also available in bronze, but Whitney wasn’t put in that jacket. I guess the silver was more her color?

I’m glad her roots are touched up in this photo.

Is it just me or is that jacket way too old for Whitney?

It really does nothing for her. Maybe if it had a belt and gave her more shape it would look better.

Dani, on the other hand, is all over their website, modeling jackets, tops, and more. She’s in like every third shot.

Dani is possibly one of the most successful ANTMers, she has lots of regular gigs. A lot of it is catalogue and online, but I see her face everywhere.

I think the best look she has is this jewel-neck blouse ($34.99).

This top really has the possibility to be a bit matronly, but Danielle really makes it work.

It’s an interesting silhouette, but I’m not a fan of the bejewelled neckline. All that color plus that is just too much.

jaslene gonzalezJaslene works it in a leopard-print top ($34.99).

I think Jaslene looks soft here, but again, the clothes seem too old for her. I wonder why Metro Style selects models who are obviously too young to actually wear these clothes. Does it make the outfits more attractive to their demographic?

Plus, the brown fake leather pants are doing nothing for the top. I like the idea of belting the shirt, but don’t make your belt match your pants in material, color and texture.

Saleisha modeled this zebra print empire-waist top ($19.99). saleisha stowersAgain, this top would work better is Saleisha was older.

I’m glad she no longer has the bowl cut, but I’m not sure about the curls. But I supposed that’s just how the stylist did it.

Who do you think is working it the best? How did Metro Style secure four ANTM winners to model their collections. (I looked for CariDee, but couldn’t find her. If you do, left me know in the comments!)

Saliesha has done a few things for them as well. MetroStyle seems to be a clearing house for ANTM winners with Dani and Jaslene being the more regular ones. A lot of the clothing is old looking on them but Dani’s Saks stuff and the gig Whitney and C5 Diane did for Silhouettes is matronly looking as well but catalog work like this pays more money than editorial.

Whitney is looking like a hot mess, as usual. She lacks the ability to take a single good picture. She’s the next Caridee…

Though a lot of the clothes are rather matronly and “church-y”, Dani is looking grrrreat

At least Whitney’s mouth is closed for once; in both of those Metro pics. That’s a plus for her. Her best shoots to date have been this one, her Salon Z and Silhouettes and most have had her mouth closed instead of that Joker smile she likes to whip out. As for Caridee, I like her but yes, her being able to say that she’s modeled in Honduras’ Fashion Week is nothing to brag about.
