TMSS Round One: Melrose (7-2) vs. Atalya (10-14)

This match-up is between a girl who left far too early and a girl who nearly made it to the top.
Cycle 7’s Melrose Bickerstaff and Cycle 10’s Atalya Slater face-off below the jump.

Melrose (she “don’t need no issa”) was a 23-year-old aspiring model from California when she tried out for Cycle 7 of ANTM. Even though she often photographed a bit old and was a bit of a know-it-all, her improvement throughout the show led to stunning pictures, which impressed the judges. She rocked the final runway showdown, but in the end, lost out to CariDee English, because the judges felt Melrose was too mechanical and not vivacious enough. Since the show, Melrose has been involved in lots of different modeling and fashion projects in California.

Atalya, an 18-year-old student from Brooklyn, New York, was no nice and normal and sweet that the judges had to send her home first. Well, the judges actually sent her home because they felt she was too commercial and didn’t have the appeal of a high fashion model. After appearing on the show, Atalya went back to school and is planning on going to college and pursue a modeling career.

Melrose knows what she wants and she gets it. I think she should have won the title. CariDee was sweet, but not as pretty as Melrose.
