  Yesss. I’m SO thrilled. I would have been happy if either Chantal or Saleisha won! I do honestly think that Saleisha is more comfortable & confident with herself, and that is why she won. She has a great walk, and she takes absolutely BEAUTIFUL photos. I loved her from the start, and she deserved this! Way to go, Saleisha!

  This is ludicrous! I’ve had it with Tyra, first she chooses the man-ish Jazlene (and her horrible voice) over gorgeous Tanya the Russian beauty and now she chooses commercial short print model Saleisha over tall gorgeous high fashion model Chantal. The judges went gah gah over Saleisha’s great wall photo but Chantal had great photos all through the cycle! I hate to say it but I wonder if Saleisha skin color had anything to do with Tyra’s decision. This is 2 cycles in a row now where she choose a woman of color over a white woman in the final episode. And don’t forget at the beginning of this cycle the first 5 or 6 models sent home were all white. WTF?! Did she ever send home 3 models of a color in a row let alone 5-6? Come on Tyra let the BEST MODEL win not the BEST MODEL OF COLOR. I hate racism in all forms :-( Tyra made a horrible decision and Nigel is obviously not as good a photographer as he thinks if he can’t spot the difference between a commercial and high fashion model. He was passionately defending Saleisha and bashing Chantal for like 2 minutes in the final panel! My sister and I won’t watch the next cycle. I’m sick of narcissistic Tyra’s pettiness, egotism and favoritism.

  they were but i was expecting heather or lisa to win sadly both of them left (tear) but in the same time i was happy selishia won…….well can’t wait to see next years america’s next top model!!!!!

  glad seleisha won. shes more comfortable. and pls hold back on the color favortism thing. theres been plenty of races that win throughout. Count them. half and half and naima is pretty mixed. jaslenes the first latina. tyra picked over the other mixed black girl with green eyes for a white girl and its true, the mixed girls walk was sloppier - yet she was quite exotic. why play the color card when models work with so many looks their whole careers. they know things we dont. The list of winners are pretty fair and balanced. Everyone saw carrie dee as a nicer person than melrose, and they were both blonde. still, the next asian chick who can bring it….that’d be niiice! and an indian top model…waiting joyfully. may the best girl win, as always. at least Im not managing their career. thats what matters to judges too. ciao!

  In response to toronto’s dumb ass racist comment, just because 2 women of color win in a row, it’s a problem? well how about adrianne won first and then yoanna won! To wgite women. Race has nothing to do with it you asshole….The winners went as so…white, white, black, 1/2 white 1/2 blk, white, black, white, Hispanic, and black. Way more white woma, and one got damn hispanic, so wtf are you talking about!

  Totoro, your comment is totally ignorant because if you notice the winners in all the cycles its been a mixture of black, white & hispanic. You need to do a little research before you post dumb racist comments. This is 2007, I thought people were over that. It’s not about color its about who brings it and the judges felt that Seleshia did a better job so deal with it. And I’m sure you and you sister not watching next season is not gonna crack a dent in the millions of viewers who tune in every week.

  so glad saleisha won. I was rooting for her since the first episode…she was definitely the strongest out of all the girls. heather took nice pictures but at the end of the day she couldn’t perform in the covergirl commercial. seeing as how the grand prize was a contract with cover girl, it doesn’t make sense to pick someone who can’t get a commercial right even when the lines are being fed to her. they had to let heather go, but i’m sure she’ll get work as a print model. …

  totoro…please get a grip on life. first of all everyone needs to understand that there is a JUDGING PANEL!!! Tyra is not the only person judging these girls. there is no racisim or favoritism….saleisha won fair and square…get over it.

  I THINK SHE SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN ELIGBLE TO COMPETE IN THE FIRST PLACE! SHE IS IN BLATANT VIOLATION OF ANTM CONTRACT.

  “10. You must not have previous experience as a model in a national campaign within the last five (5) years (including, but not limited to, appearances on television and print advertisements). Additionally, if you are currently represented by an agent or manager and are selected to be interviewed for the Series, you must provide sufficient evidence to the Producers that you will be able to effectively terminate such representation prior to your participation in the Series, if selected. If selected to participate in the Series, you must terminate, prior to your participation, any representation which conflicts with the terms of your participation.”

  Tyra claims to not have seen her since the T-zone days…but its lies…saleisha was apart of the runway show in cycle 6!!! and she was on the tyra show as a model for a designer…AND..she was in the wendys campaign…whats going on here?!?!?!?!

  What!!!! First, the correct word is- photogenic. Second, the judges knew what they were looking for and they saw it in Saleshia. Third, I think Saleshia was the Perfect person to win. If you know any thing about being a model or even booking one for a show, you would understand their decision

  Don’t get me wrong Chantal is a great girl. But did any of us really think she had what took to be ANTM. Saleshia just had it!!!! I would book her to model any of my designs in a heartbeat and I make stuff for renessance fair/ festivals. She’s just more high fashion and runway can always be perfected later. It’s as simple as that!!

  I totally agree with you OMG but it doesn’t take away from the fact that they are in violation of the contract and i think there should be some sort of penalty for that reason alone, i was blown away by Saleshia originally I totally hoping for Healther but Saleshia was my next pick. I didn’t know she’d had any experience though.

  I agree with most of Totoro’s comments. A lot of the time I feel like Tyra goes with diversity instead of who actually has talent. I’m totally in favor of diversity in the modeling industry, it certainly needs more of it! However I feel like this season’s Top Model was the worst ever! There was nothing different or interesting about it! It was the same old same old.

  Really, I think HEATHER was the real winner. She was Cover Girl of the week the longest and had the most potential. I hope to see her in Vogue someday.

  The show def needs revamping and if Tyra was really about diversifying the modeling industry she’d fight for more “plus-size” girls and not just judge them on their ethnic backgrounds and which girl has the saddest sob story. I hate when she makes them cry and brings out things like Heather’s autism! It doesn’t make the show more interesting, it just makes her look all the more desperate. I’ve been watching ANTM since season one, and for once I’m not all that anxious for the next season.

  Tyra rigged this show by hand-picking her protege (who had modeled for her in the past) from the very beginning. Not to mention, breaking the rules so that she could compete in this show in the first place.

  I’m tired of everyone hating on saleshia. She was a beautiful girl who was fighting to become america’s next top model. Chantal was fierce. She ‘ll become famous anyway and so will jenah. I think Saleshia deserved it and I’m glad she won.

  You guys all need to grow up. There’s been a mixture of white, black, and other races that have won America’s Next Top Model. Tyra never claimed to have not seen Saleisha between ANTM & T-Zone camp. Saleisha brought it, she had the walk, she took beautiful photos, and people wanted HER. She had the personality, Chantal obviously didn’t. That was proven at the go-see’s. Chantal was trying to take Saleisha’s “personality” once she saw how Saleisha was interacting with all of the designers. Truth be told, Saleisha deserved to win. Can you REALLY prove that it was Saleisha on the Tyra Banks show? No - it looks like her, but there’s no proof it is. MANY people can look like others - maybe thats the case here. Until you’ve got PROOF - don’t flap your mouth.

  Ugh…. there hasn’t been a person I wanted to win in the final 3 since cycle 4 when Kahlen was robbed of the title.

  I didn’t like Saleisha at all this season. I didn’t like Chantal very much either, but towards the end I started to at least think she was cute. I can’t say the same for Saleisha.

  I’m getting so sick of this show.

  Lisa or Heather should have won in my opinion. It seems like Heather’s autism played in both bad and good her. Sure models probably have to do a lot of things that the girls had to do on the show but please do not try to make me believe that they do EVERYTHING on their own. Heather could easily have had someone with her to help out if she needed it. I felt so bad for her on the go-sees.
  As for Lisa, well it seemed everyone pegged her as a non winner because she was a dancer from the start. I would have thought it would have come in to work in her favor.
  BTW Bianca was mean and I totally hated her. I don’t know why she stayed so long because she wasn’t even that good. Same face all the time

  Well, considering people are fast enough to draw the race card when they think blacks are being unfairly treated perhaps you should all lay off Totoro a bit for suggesting that it just might happen the other way around too. Just listen to Tyra’s show for long enough and it becomes clear that she prefers blacks over whites, though I don’t think she lets that factor in on ANTM…

  Personally I wish Chantal would have won. Saleshia was nice but not nearly as personable or sweet looking as Chantal.

  Why, does race have to come into this?? even if tyra picked saleisha because she was black how many white girls have won top model?? Tyra is not the only judge in the competition, to say she prefers blacks better is not accurate. The other judges picked the Saleisha also so are the racist too?? And to check all the facts there have been a equal amout of white and white winners. I think Saleisha deserved it she worked hard to win. SALEISHA I LOVE YOU!!!

  Toronto does it ever occur to you that the woman of color who won was just better. Just because a model’s white don’t make her automatic model material. She has to earn her way by taking great pics and owning her catwalk. In my opinion, Saleisha was better and it has nothing to do with color. The best person won. If you’re that sick of Tyra don’t watch her show. Simple as that.

  Saleshia is trying too hard to be all bubbly on the outside and there Tyra says how inner beauty is more important…well shes wrong…I saw Jenah’s genuine personality as inner beauty, its not perfect but its human. I think both Chantel and Jenah photographs a lot stronger then Saleshia. I am disappointed about a fake on the outside girl being a role model for girls.

  I’m so glad that she won! She is just so pretty! and uhmmm to “totoro” u have some problems. 1st of all trya didn’t pick “girls of color” back to back dani was in the 6th and homegirl is in the 9th! Plus she only picked three final girls of color out of how many seasons?….oh yeah 9. so how is tyra being racist? And yeah the 1st 5 or 6 girls who were sent home were white there was only 5 girls of color on the show and one went home because she wanted to.Plus bianca almost didn’t make it her self. it sounds like your a lil jealous or just mad or hey a hater! Idk if you remember but saleshia was in the bottom two at one point and she had the worse pic. but tyra was still being a racist huh?and bianca was in the bottom two and ambel was in the bottom two a lot. She is not picking the best girl because of her skin color she is picking them because she thinks its the right thing yes she was off a few seasons but hey she is human. So don’t be so mad she gave you caridee or whatever!

  I like Tyra, and its her show, but to say she doesn’t give preferential treatment toward women of color, is just stupid. However, we have to temper that with realizing that racism has been prevalent in the industry for decades.
