The Tyra Banks Show Moves to New York

by Ingrid on June 7th, 2007

The Tyra Banks Show has always filmed in Los Angeles, but come next season, the supermodel and her talk show team will be headed to the Big Apple.

“Moving the talk show to New York provides a great opportunity to meet all kinds of people and keep sharing the message of empowerment with everyone everywhere,” Banks has added. “The excitement of New York City will translate to the show each and every day as we continue to face compelling issues…head on.”

With the big move to NY it’s also possible that America’s Next Top Model will be making NY its home, though there has yet to be any comment from the CW on whether or not that’s true. We’ll see I guess.

Say hi to Tyra if you see her in NYC!

    Hello, Tara
My name is Gyniek Clay I would like you to do a show on single black parents typically women, myself who at the age of 16 started selling drugs, left home hanging out in the streets, gangbanging, and smoking weed. I caught my first aldult drug case at the age of 19yrs old never knowing then that it would still affect my life as a 30 yr old single parent. when it comes to employment, school, low income living and much more the back ground from the age of 16yrs old still dis-qualify me, hinder me and stunt my growth. How do I teach my 3mn daughter to be something I wasn’t. I’ve changed alot actually a 360 type of change but my past haven’t let me escape, It is still very much affecting my present and future. How do I free myself, I just want to be free.

    Tyra,

I was watching your show when you were interviewing Russian women. The questions you were asking, I found very disrespecful, rediculous and insulting. There is a bigger world outside of you limitations, but you probably don’t care what another Russian thinks as you say we are “second best”. There are many successful, independent and inteligent Russian women who have immigrated by marriage or other legal means to this wonderful country.

    Not a fan anymore, Mela

    Hi Tara
I am moving to my country at the end of this year and I am thinking of going to host a similar show in mycountry in Africa. I do not wish to mention the country yet but this is the time because we do not have anything like that there and I have always wanted to a show like this and also a chat show, which I was first inspired by Oprah and the of course yourself.
I am hoping that you will get in touch with me so that you could approve of my show too. I want to call it ” Country’s Next Top model” I wondered if that would cause any problems. Maybe you could help sponsor this and believe me it will be big in my country because of who I am. I have already secured a contract to start my own TV Show and I will like to do it with you. Please get in touch with me. Or send me a direct contact for you. Please make sure you get this email, people say you are really nice and could help people only when you get this email. Don’t let this be pushed aside. Thanks and I am looking forward to hearing from Tyra - Please!!! Pass it on!!!

Please pass on my message to Tyra and I would very much like her to email me personally. I have recently been inspired by her and I want to tell her myself and talk about other things too. Please make sure you pass on my email.

    Thanks

Tyra when I first heard of your show honestly I thought oh no she’ll probably focus on modeling and it’ll get boring real quick and she’ll be off the air before I can blink. I must retrack those thoughts because you have some of the most inspiring shows today! I commend you and thank you for letting me know I’m not alone. Be blessed and keep it coming!

Hi Tyra! I loved your show on the makeover homes with the 15 year old girl that lost her mother and the single mom with 2 children. Very emotional. You did a nice job! At the end of the show you said if you think you know someone that needs a makeover in the home write, so here I am writing to you! My girlfriend of 25 years is a very special person to me I consider her like my sister that is how close we are. Anyway she did not have it easy her father was diagnosed with cancer when she was 8 he made it through the first time but then came back the second time. Her father died when she was 17 years old leaving the family helpless emotionally and financially. Her youngest brother started abusing drugs on and off. He had 4 beautiful children but still could not stop using drugs. Unfortunately, his wife also was using drugs. To make a long story short, my girlfriend postponed with starting her own family since she always had her brother in trouble in some way and she was always there to take care of her nephews and nieces. Finally she became pregnant and in the middle of her pregnancy her brother lost custody of his 4 kids and she took all 4 children while pregnant and while having some construction work in the house. She is an amazing woman along with her husband who helps out a lot. They are in desperate need of a kitchen makeover and I was wondering Tyra if you can help them out in some way. If you meet this special couple you will be so empathetic towards them I promise you that! Please, Please take a moment to read this and think twice before saying no. I thank you for taking the time to reading this letter. P.S. Love your show! You are truly a role model to young women around the world! Thank you so much! Suzie

What in the hell makes you guys think Tyra is going to just randomly log on to this website, and read all of your posts about the weather, and ideas for the show.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s not going to happen. Haha, especially if the one guy doesn’t stop calling her Tara.

You guys can’t keep getting upset if she doesn’t read / respond to your e-mail, or whether or not you can’t find her personal e-mail address. She doesn’t have time to read the hundreds of e-mails she gets a day from fans. It’s not as easy as you seem to think.

    Dear Tara,
I just watched ur piece on how ppl react to certain situations on the street…ie..cell phone use…basically u used a caucasion teenager then an african american teenager n claimed that there was some sort of racsim still around. As I see it, there is no racism, I am tired of blck men or women as urself still claiming this…frankly, it’s boring…I also saw that the only ppl that were not wnting to hlp in ANY situation r the blck ppl…so wht would u call that? I say stop it already…EVERY race has been repressed at one point of the century…get over it…only the blcks r wnting some sort of monetary compensation…not the jews, hispanics, italian, chinese, n etc..

    Tyra, Tyra, Tyra
Stop the profanity!!! You are likeable and cursing(used the bit– word) at the beginning of your
new seaon show, “America’s Next Top Model,” is it really necessary? There are some women such
as myself who are Christians who admire how you
are trying to help(not hinder) influence youn women inn a positive way….You came on the scene last Wednesday(02/20/08) on a float dressed as a prom queen announcing(jokingly)
that you’d slept with all of their men(new contestants) and calling them “bitches.”

Some young teens and adults might (if they are
mature adults)not consider you as such a positive role model. This is just one incident, hopefully a last one..Nobody’s perfect, yet in the sights of many young girls and women, you are!!
You can be redeemed!!! Aren’t you one of Typer
Perry’s friends? Do you talk that way around him
(profanity)? What does your mom think? I know you would value her opinion.

    Het Tyra,
My name is Jenael and i am a 17 year old senior at Santa Fe High School. In order to graduate we have this thing called the senior progect that we must complete. We have to do field work and research papers. My topic is on fashion modeling and the issues with weight. By that I mean how challenging it is for an average size model to break into the buisness. I know what I want to prove and I know what I want to do as fieldwork but in order for that to be approved I need a mentor. My teacher said it would be a really big deal if I was able to get you to become my mentor and it would also help my progect out a lot. So please please please email me back or call me. 562 228 6848
