The Jays Chat About Operation Fabulous
November 29, 2008 by Erin Balser
The Los Angeles Times wrote a nice profile about J Alexander and Jay Manuel as the took a break from filming Operation Fabulous. The show, which they are calling a cross between ANTM and Extreme Makeover, was picked up by the CW and is expected to air in 2009.

CW expects the show to do well because of the Jays chemistry and the different elements they each bring to the table.
“Jay is your parent in tough love. He tells you the way it is, but only because he wants you to be the best you can be,” CW president Dawn Ostroff said. “As much as Miss J criticizes and rolls his eyes, deep down, he’s just looking for the girl who can get it done.”
The Jays promise that Operation Fabulous will be far less cut-throat than ANTM.
“But we like working with real women too,” Jay said. “We want them to feel good about themselves. We aren’t giving them ‘makeovers’ on ‘Operation Fabulous.’ I actually hate the word ‘makeover.’ We’re teaching them to enhance and maintain what they’ve already got.”
The article is long and gives you a pretty good idea about the new show and about the Jays’ relationship. Read it for yourself here.

Uh…You need to check your facts. This was originally in the LA Times.
Please go back and change it. Denise does NOT work in Salt Lake.
LARD-fixed!
THANKS, Erin.
Honest mistake, but we as bloggers need to be more conscious and aware.

@ Lard
it might just be me but you are coming off a tad bit abrasive. As you said, it was just an honest mistake which will immediately fixed at your request.
I’m glad the Jays are finally opening up (no pun intended) about the new show. Doesn’t seem like something I’ll watch though.
hollywood–Im going to watch it, because it seems intriguing and will make good content for this blog. but i seriously doubt I would otherwise.
what I’m most excited to see is jay and j interacting, they rarely do on ANTM, except to select contestants and they are always buffered by tyra. I’m assuming they have chemistry, but who knows?
@ erin
I think they have amazing chemistry, I’m just scared about the content of the show. It might be cliche or cheesy or trying to hard. But then again, Ms. J is hella funny. She ( or is it he?) is both intentionally and unintentionally funny so it might be worth it. I think I’ll watch the first episode and see.
I wasn’t trying to be abrasive. Just trying to give a heads up and my two cents. If you thought I was, Hollywood, then I’ll apologize. Other than that, maybe you’re reading too far into it. Also, is there such a thing as having comment etiquette? If so, please do share.
