Demelza Reveley’s Day at Work
August 2, 2008 by Erin Balser
Last week Demelza Reveley shot her Vogue spread that came as part of her prize pack for winning Australia’s Next Top Model.
The concept for the shoot was cocktail dresses and they did the shoot in an abandoned Point Piper house, according to the Illawarra Mercury.
“It was a little bit different to anything I’ve done before,” Demelza told the paper. “It was all really elegant cocktail dresses and very stylised, but then they’ve changed it all with cowboy hats and feathers - an American Indian feel.”
Vogue has a video from behind-the-scenes at the shoot, which you can watch here.
Despite criticism from Vogue’s editor Kirstie Clements about Demelza’s potential as a model, she feels confident about her shoot and about her career.
“My agency told me that they were very happy and I got lots of good feedback so I think I did a good job,” she said. “No, I know I did a good job.”
I’m excited to see the spread and to see how she did! Do you think she has what it takes to make a good model?

Australia’s Next Top Model Cycle 3 winner Alice Burdeu is arguably the most successful Top Model winner ever. (Along with Russia’s Ksenia, choosing between the two is pretty hard!). Alice is so successful that she’s getting her second Vogue cover in less than a year!
“She’s a different model now to the one who won Australia’s Next Top Model,” Vogue Australia’s editor Kristie Clements said. “She’s been validated as one of the top emerging models on the world scene and has a whole new sense of sophistication.”
I would love to see Alice get a Vogue cover that’s not Australia. As big an accomplishment this is, I’d argue that Australia’s Vogue is one of the weakest Vogue titles. How awesome would it be to see Alice rock the cover of British Vogue, Vogue Italia or American Vogue?
Regardless, I’m excited to see the new cover!
