Tyra Banks topped Forbes’ list of primetime female earners, as she raked in over $30 million last year. Tyra walloped the competition, as only one other woman on the list broke the $10 million mark.

Tyra Banks Interviewed in The Advocate

Tyra Banks was interviewed in the October 2009 issue of The Advocate. She talked about her support for gay rights and how it’s a frequent topic on her show, the death of “fierce”, and what it would be like to be Tyra’s best friend.
My favorite part is when she gives advice to contestants on the next season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, should they ever be inspired by Tyra. (There has to be a second season!):

The key to a drag queen doing me is overdoing me. You’ve got to go all the way over the top, times 10. First of all, …read more

Tyra Banks Goes Weave-Free!

In honor of the season five premiere of The Tyra Banks Show, Tyra hosted the show without her weave. She hasn’t been in public with her real hair since she was nineteen!
I’ll admit, I was in for something great – like she’d be bald or have the Mia Farrow cut she loves giving Top Model girls. In the end, her hair was natural and she was beautiful.
Here’s a brief clip from the show:
What do you think of Tyra going weave-free?

Tyra Banks to Rock Real Hair for Talk Show Premiere

This year, Tyra Banks is promising that The Tyra Banks Show will be bigger and better than ever. One thing that won’t be bigger and better during the season premiere? Tyra’s weave!
Yesterday on Twitter, Tyra promised that she was going to go au naturel during the September 8th premiere:

Guess What! I’m rockin’ my REAL hair on my talk show September 8th. No fake hair at all! Will be the hair coming out of my scalp! 4 all 2 C!

I’ve always thought Tyra was bald under all that fake hair. I guess not. She continued her weave-free tale, twittering:

no ponytails, …read more

Tyra Banks to Guest Star on Gossip Girl

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Tyra Banks has signed on to do a guest spot on the CW hit Gossip Girl – and she isn’t playing herself.
Tyra’s character is somehow connected to Hilary Duff’s character. Hilary is doing a multiepisode guest spot as a famous actress who wants a normal college experience and becomes Vanessa’s roommate at NYU.
My guess? Tyra plays Hilary’s overbearing manager or agent or similar.
Tyra has appeared as herself in a few films recently, including Hannah Montana: The Movie and Tropic Thunder. Her last real acting gig was a guest role in 2004 on American Dreams. …read more
