Saleisha Stowers America’s Next Top Model Controversy

So since Saleisha won cycle 9 of America’s Next Top Model there has been talk of her eligibility in the competition.  She had previously modeled for Tyra Banks, done a Wendy’s commercial and print ads.  Here’s more on the issue:

It’s been almost two days since the Cycle Nine finale of America’s Next Top Model, but that doesn’t mean fans have stopped talking about the controversy surrounding this year’s Top Model winner Saleisha Cooper.

Millions of viewers watched as Tyra Banks crowned Saleisha as this season’s champion, despite her previous modeling experience and prior ties to the ANTM judge.

While some fans feel that Saleisha deserved the victory, others believe the competition was staged and that the 21-year-old receptionist from California shouldn’t have been allowed to participate in the competition in the first place.  Read the rest here

    I don’t believe that it was rigged. Who cares if she had some prior modelling experience. She didn’t break any of the rules. In my opinion neither Saleisha nor Chantal should have won. They’re both so fugly and not model material at all. I wasn’t impressed with this cycle’s contestants. The only one I found beautiful was Heather.

    hi dear im from Hong Kong,quite far from u.
    I think both Chantel and Saleisha have potential top win.Maybe Im chinese so my views of beauty are different.im wanna have a nice face like Western..
    A part of competition had been held in China - Shanghai & Beijiing.I felt very diappointed because Hong Kong is also a gorgeous city of China.Why didn’t come/_\

    I didn’t think it was right for Saleisha to be in the competition. ANTM is about girls that are new to modeling. I also think that her look ws too commercial. No the hair did not help. Also, she played up to Nigel. His nose was wide open when she had on those short dresses and stood with her legs open. It’s not about that ANTM, and I think Tyra missed it. (BAD TYRA)
    I need to see more of Bianca. She is FABO, had the best look and body. Guess she should have had more short skirts on at panel to confuse Nigel. Chantal couldn’t walk and the other girl need was a snot.

    I believe that Saleisha should of won. If you remember her and Chantals pictures were fierce. But on that runway everyone knows that Saleisha did way better and that Chantal was too stiff. It doesnt matter if she has had modeling experience. The show is to make a model no matter if they had practice or not. Even though Chantal didn’t win she can still model as long as she works on her walk!

    Well clearly if the rules state that she wasn’t supposed to have any experience then she shouldn’t have had any. If she broke any of the rules then she shouldn’t have been able to compete. Now you do have to remember during casting that Tyra said that she won’t pretend that she doesn’t know Saleisha. She acknowledged that she knew her. All the girls from cycle 9 were beautiful in there own ways. I just think Saleisha was the best. She had the best walk, face, and personality. She had it all together from the start. Sh*t if she had that much experience she woulndn’t have needed ANTM. Come on people you are just looking for somebody to blame because the person you wanted to win didn’t.

    My opinion is not about “Saleisha shouldn’t have won”, but more about “She SHOULDN’T HAVE PARTICIPATED the first place at all!”

    I mean, she kept teaching the girls to do this and that, like she knew everything. So if she really knew that much - with those experiences and professionalism she was blabbering about - why didn’t she just continue her own road and leave the ANTM competition to the girls that really need this show to learn and to live like a model?
    I guess she just want the free makeover, free gifts, and a chance to be seen on TV.

    So, for me, THAT is why she can be called a cheater. Not because she had already known Tyra.
