Paulina Porizkova: Good Judge or Bad Judge?

We watched Paulina Porizkova for a whole cycle now and I was wondering what everyone thought of her! While she’s definitely more vocal than her predecessor Twiggy, she’s no where near as outrageous as original Top Model judge Janice Dickinson.

I think she’s honest, but has a tendency to play favorites and has a really narrow view of some of the girls–she doesn’t let them grow in her eyes. But a lot of her criticisms are bang-on and are fairly constructive.

So, do you like Paulina as a judge? Why or why not?

    Any of these judges who say they don’t play favorites is lying. I think Paulina would admit someone’s growth as much as any of them would. If someone started weak, those pictures have to stay in mind as well as the better recent pictures.

    Also remember that her comments might me edited out for time/cohesiveness/story arc.

    She’s my favorite judge by far. BY FAR. I’d like to see her host instead of Tyra, actually. She’s more real, but not afraid to ham it up a little and have fun. She’s not forced or fake (erhm…Tyra…erhm). Her criticisms are spot on and she hasn’t mentioned that the camera loves someone yet (at least not that I remember). She’s a model that knows the business and doesn’t sugarcoat or make it seem overly important.

    So in summary, LOVE HER.

    ALL judges play favorites Erin, especially Niger.

    …I’m not crazy about Paulina but I think she’s a great judge. She’s blunt, honest and exactly what a modeling judge should be. Tyra’s agenda prevents her from giving honest criticisms

    So true! they all play favorites! i do think that paulina was more open about it though than nigel. nigel and a lot fo the other judges tried to play it down more than she did. but maybe thats just because they’ve been on the show longer?

    Of course they have favorites, anyone that wasn’t expecting them to, is off their rocker. Parents pick favorites, teachers pick favorites, bosses pick favorites, friends pick favorites, etc. Everybody picks favorites. With that being said, I believe Paulina has the most balls, so to speak. She seems to be more outspoken, down to earth, and real than the other judges. She seems to be interacting with the models more than Twiggy did, or Tyra ever has, and probably ever will. She’s more funny & has a lot of personality too. She also has a lot of information on how the industry works, and knows what the girls are / will be going through. & she’s gorgeous, and that just can’t hurt. ;)

    Paulina Porizkova definitely is a GOOD judge. Paulina knows exactly the inner cycle of the modelling world. Paulina was a SUPER STAR during the 80’s and she was almost all over the top fashion magazines and top fashion shows. Her versatility from runways, cover girls spreads, swimsuit and being the higfhest paid model and Face of Estee Lauder makes Paulina a experienced high class model…

    I like Paulina. She struck me as an in-between of Janice and Twiggy. If you were to put Janice on one side and Twiggy on the other, Paulina would be almost to the centre of that line. Janice was too harsh while Twiggy was a Paula Abdul of ANTM almost. Paulina manages to get the feedback across without being overly hard on the models.

    I loved Paulina as a judge. She’s so hilarious! She made me laugh a lot with all her comments and confident personality. Twiggy was a bit more afraid to say what she thought and general did not give any criticism that I agreed with. Paulina is dead-on with constructive cricism and although she has her favorites, she is still the best judge that has been chosen (from Twiggy - Janice). I still do like Tyra and Jay, Nigel is okay, but he has the looks so whatever. Paulina hopefully will stay.

    She’s a great judge. Not gives as good TV as Janice, but she does her job. Tyrade should go away. Let Paulina have her honest critism and be mean to the girls. THAT IS THE REAL WORLD BABY! And Paulina knows it! And Paulina loves Heather. :)
