Top Models in Action: Dani Evans

Last night’s Top Model in Action was Cycle 6 winner Dani Evans. Dani has been getting consistent catalogue work since the show ended, regularly appearing in look books and on the Saks Fifth Avenue site for designers like Tori Burch.

Dani is currently the face of Academics Clothing and, this isn’t in the video, but she’s really good friends with supermodel Chanel Iman!

Cycle 6 was a tough call. Dani was sweet and a good model, but who didn’t love Joanie Dodds? I also never understood the name change from Danielle to Dani. Is Dani more modelesque?

Tyra Banks at Miley Cyrus’s Birthday

Tyra Banks made an appearance at Miley Cyrus’s sixteenth birthday party at Disneyland over the weekend. The celebration was huge with stars like David Archuleta, Demi Lovato, Cody Linley, Emiley Osment, and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Miley’s birthday isn’t until November. I wonder what she’ll do on her real birthday!

I think it’s a bit odd that Tyra was invited to a sweet sixteen party. Also odd was Tyra’s gift to Miley–a picture of Tyra as a sixteen year old! Thanks to Matthew, below is a video with Tyra talking about her gift.

What do you think? Is such a present super-sweet? Or super-lame?

ANTM 11.06 “Natural Beauty” Bonus Clips

Here are some bonus clips from last week’s episode of America’s Next Top Model. The girls portrayed natural disasters and Clark was sent home.

In this clip, Samantha is worried about her performance so far, since she was in the bottom two the week before. She and Lauren Brie are in the hot tub, and Lauren Brie tries to reassure her.

Modelville on The Tyra Banks Show

Tyra Banks is expanded the Top Model franchise to include her own daytime talk show The Tyra Banks Show. Modelville, a show-within-a-show will premiere on the October 8 episode.

Modelville will follow former America’s Next Top Model contestants Fatima Siad, Renee Alway, Lauren Utter, Bianca Golden and Dominique Reighard as they continue to pursue their modeling dreams.

Al the girls will live in a house together and complete a series of challenges. The winner will receive a $50,000 modeling contract.

You can see a preview video here. It looks like the drama heats up quickly!

While I think this is going to be fun to watch, do the contestants really think that participating in another Tyra-creating modeling competition is what it will take to make their modeling dreams come true?

ANTM Interview: Clark Gilmer

Yesterday, I sat in on a conference call with Clark Gilmer, the most recent eliminee from America’s Next Top Model. The southern belle chatted about why her elimination was a complete surprise, what it’s like to be a brunette, who she wants to see go all the way and who in the house she just didn’t like. You’ll be surprised at her answers!

Video: ANTM Cycle 10 Reunion

This video is a very small part of the America’s Next Top Model Cycle 10 reunion that was held on The Tyra Banks Show on Wednesday. It focuses on winner Whitney Thompson and what she has been up to since the show ended.

The video quickly glosses over every non-Whitney aspect. I really wish I could have seen the whole thing, but this is better than nothing!

Whitney talks about how awesome it is to be a role model and to help people improve their body image. She also talks about her new dog and how she went about adopting him.

The little girl Tyra is holding is Claire’s daughter. So cute!

Top Models in Action: Eugena Washington

This cycle, America’s Next Top Model has a new segment called “Top Models in Action.” Each week, they take a look back at previous contestants to see how their career is going.

This week, they checked in with Eugena Washington, who came third in Cycle 7. Eugena has had a decent career since leaving ANTM. She lives in LA there and does quite a few shows both there and in New York City. She’s also landed a few ad campaigns.

I loved Eugena and I’m glad to see that her career has taken off!

ANTM 11.07 “The Fiercee Awards” Preview II

Here’s another preview of next week’s episode of America’s Next Top Model. It looks like the girls are portraying red carpet mishaps and Sheena impresses in front of the judges. Could she be stepping up her game? However, the judges are split on her photo–it’s good, but not great.

I wonder what other mishaps Tyra will have in store for the other girls!
