I think if the organisers of this event, are going to be so strict on the height restriction – they should enforce it correctly. for example, dont have one person doing it – who is shorter than most of the entrants, and holds her hands over their heads to see if they are tall enough. have a correct measure – maybe then you will get it right ! also, have a second person watching the feet of the girls – today I saw two who raised their heels to pass the height mark – and the person measuring couldnt see as she was then busy looking up at the top of their heads. While they are at it – if height is an issue, why not weigh them too – today i saw a few TALL but pudgy girls get through to see the judges, while some lovely looking girls got left out for the sack of 1-2 cms. Is it NZ NEXT TOP MODEL, OR NZ NEXT TALL MODEL ?
I think the whole judging people due to height and weight is disgussing. Big people are beautiful as well. There are some very unhealthy skinny people around due to these types of programmes. beauty is within. I wont be watching.
I auditioned and didn’t get in due to be half a centremetre short. I’m not fat nor hideous, but still not good enough.
I agree, it’s NZ’s next top model not NZ’s next tallest.
It’s truly pathetic.
I mean, what’s the difference if you’re tall or short? There is no difference, when you’re a coathanger or as they say, a “model”.
Short people can wear clothes too, short people can walk the runway just as well as giraffes can.
And it’s not like I AM short, the difference to me being 170cm was half a cm!
