Janice Dickinson Says She’s Irreplaceable
Former America’s Next Top Model judge, Janice Dickinson scoffed at the Nigel Barker’s claim that new judge Paulina Porizkova is the new Janice.
“Oh please, there’s no one like me!” Janice says to In Touch Weekly. “Nigel has nothing else to say. He’s a stamped, copy-written, Grade-A piece of beef.”
Janice left the show after the fifth season to work on other projects. She’s very opinionated about how the show has changed and about the newer judges!
“Top Model lost a lot of punch when I left,” she says. “The judges on that show are under Tyra’s magic, I respect the hell out of Ms. Banks, but I don’t like her very much.”
I loved Janice as a judge, but am uncertain about how true her claims are. Do you agree with Janice about the show going down hill? Or were you glad to see her go?

I would agree with her claim of being irreplaceable if she means it the way Beyonce meant it in her song…
“…I respect the hell out of Ms. Banks, but I don’t like her very much.” …okay…you don’t have to like me, but respect is oh so necessary (especially since I will respect you even if I don’t like you).

Janice is rude and very disrespectful. She is quick to give her opinion but often she Contradicts herself. For ex: She told Tocarra that she could be the first plus size model…then in later eposides during panel she looked at her picture and said there will never be a plus size model and Tyra called her out on it.
I like the new judge Paula because she has class and will tell you her opinion but its just that an “opinion” whereas Janice made her opinion a fact… I’m personally glad that she is gone.

Yes, she’s irreplaceable, but also highly acerbic and unnecessarily so. I can’t watch her show; I just cringe, waiting for Janice to promote Janice and then believe her own PR! I thought the point of ANTm was to provide a training ground for these women, not to crush them so much that they wished they’d never been born. And, yes, the show has peaked, but it’s still entertaining. I just wish the models would have more success for all their effort and humiliation.

Janice is one crazy, entertaining b!tch. So yeah, she is missed, but I think the show is doing fine without her. I like Paulina Porizkova, she’s much better than Twiggy.

You can have respect for someone and not like them.
I have a lot of respect for Janice, because she’s actually a very learned person. She knows what she’s talking about, I just think she has something wrong in her life that makes her angry, so she takes it out on anyone that has a noticeable flaw (everyone) by tearing them down. I’ve seen her criticize in a very constructive way, however. She just has a problem with people that disagree with her opinion or try to speak over her. Don’t be mad at Janice, just ignore her if you don’t like her.
Now, on another note…
Paulina seems a little soft-spoken to me. I think she needs some more personality and character. We just know her as the pretty supermodel who sits at the end. I like her, but I LOVED Twiggy and Janice. Janice spoke her mind and didn’t hold back, but had a way of really making the girls feel special when she liked something about their photo or their appearance. Twiggy was just so positive about everything… if she had a problem with something, she noted a way to fix it or make it better.

Top Model has definitely gone downhill since Janice left the show, but not just because of her departure. The problem is that it has become less about modeling and fashion, and more about gimmicks and how Tyra can market herself. As for Paulina, I think she is a LOT better than Twiggy in that she actually knows what she is talking about, and does not appear to play favorites. I got so sick of Twiggy falling head over heals for anyone white, blond, bubbly and safe I could hardly take it. Also, I can’t picture Paulina getting intimidated like Twiggy so often did…

I’ve done my research and the funny thing is, the cycle after she left (cycle 6) produced the fan-favorite and one of ANTMs most sucessfull models in the history of the show (Dani Evans) the show has done fine without her. I miss Twiggy (i loved that little english girl) and Tyra can do whatever, let’s face it she knows what shes doing and how to do it.

The panel has lost some of its pizazz since Janice left. The show going down hill (entertainment-wise at least) might be attributed to that. Say what you will about her, but Janice was almost always entertaining. I miss Nole` too.
My ideal panel was Janice, Nole’, and Nigel. Tyra has become increasingly obnoxious since Janice left, too. Too self-involved. I do hope she finds a replacement host so she can focus on what she obviously wants to do more: her talk show.
Paulina is a faux Janice-lite. She has opinions (which is something Twiggy didn’t have really), but she’s not the spitfire that is Janice Dickinson. And I don’t even like Janice that much. I just thought she was funny and great on panel. Yeah, she’s a bitch, but at least she entertained you with her insanity on panel.
And to “M”: she left after the 4th season didn’t she? After Naima won? Nicole won 5th season, then Danielle in the 6th.

To be honest we never heard of Janice… but we hear about Cheryl Tiegs, Carol Alt, Cristine Brinkley, Brooke Shields and the SUPERMODEL PAULINA PORIZKOVA who is Big in the 80’s and early 90’s. Twiggy is icon compared with Janice. I thought Janice is a drag queen but i learned that she is so notorious… janice is trying hard and her claim to be a supermodel is so YUCKKKK!!! and unbelievable.. Just look at Janice face and compare it with Paulina… Big difference… Paulina is Goddess and janice her bodyguard..

Chris: yeah, sorry what i meant to say, was one of the cycles after she left . . . (etc, etc.) i was a little loopy that day. :) yeah janice was entertaining but the show is about modeling, not how b!tchy you can be to x amount of girls in one episode.
