Gay Cowboys Coming to Tyra Banks Show

February 13, 2006 by Ingrid

Real-life gay cowboys (as opposed to those on Brokeback Mountain) are coming to The Tyra Banks Show.

A promotional teaser for Monday’s segment of The Tyra Banks Show promises “real-life Brokeback Mountain stories.” In addition to same-sex cowboy couples, guests of the syndicated show will include the ex-fiancée of an Iowa cowboy who tells Tyra how heartbroken she was when he ended his engagement to her so that he could be with another man.

But the guests aren’t just limited to couples. Steven Doheny, a cattle rancher from San Luis Obispo, Calif., who now sells real estate in Los Angeles, says he was chosen out of 100 applicants to be on the show. “I was the only single one,” said Doheny, who appears in a taped segment roping a horse. Viewers will be able to e-mail the show to ask him out on a date.

Fun times!
