Fox News Talks About Cycle 11’s Isis

August 19, 2008 by Erin Balser

Fox News did a segment about Isis, the transgendered model competing on Cycle 11 of America’s Next Top Model The newscaster seems to not believe in Isis’s situation, and is really condascending towards the issue.

While I think it’s right for the US Weekly editor and the news caster to be skeptical of why Tyra Banks cast Isis, I think it’s really unfair for them to be so glib about her situation.

What do you think? Did Fox News cross a line? (What and I writing?! It’s FoxNews?!) or are they within their realm as a news source to be so dismissive of Isis? The editor from US Weekly really surprised me. I thought, given the positive light they painted Isis in their profile, that he’d be more informed about the whole transgendered issues and community.

I can’t believe this! It sounded to me like they were playing fun at her. This is discrimination. If Isis wants to be treated like a woman ( which she is, but not biologically just yet), then we should treat her like that. Some people!

  2. Shelly says:

I just wish they had been a little more respectable. Don’t worry Isis! We love you!

  3. Sarah says:

    Wow…that was very offensive.
