Exclusive Interview With Heather Kuzmich of America’s Next Top Model
November 29, 2007 by leora

Today I was lucky enough to chat briefly with Heather Kuzmich who was eliminated from America’s Next Top Model last night. She was SO nice! Check back later tonight for a written recap of her interview with me and some of the questions asked by other reporters who were also in on the conference call. Also she said in the interview that she plans on reading all the comments so feel free to write comments here and maybe she’ll read it and answer you!

My daughter, Chanelle, is also an Aspy, with Asperger’s Syndrome. I believe she inherited it from me. We are working on a diagnosis at this time. Heather, if you do read this, I want you to know that there are other girls out there just like you, and I know the struggle you go through, but you are doing wonderful in spite of it.
Heather was too good for ANTM. they only kicked you off becuz of the producers
Heather –
I’ve watched every episode of every season of Model, but you are by far my favorite contestant ever. You are incredibly beautiful and incredibly real. Take pride in being yourself and please never sacrifice that! You are an inspiration and role model to so many people.
Like many others, I am wondering if there is an email address or somewhere we can send personal fanmail to? I could write to you for ages about my thoughts!
In Peace,
Carolyn
WHAAAATTTTT! This has to be a joke!!! Heather was cut? I can’t believe it… She deserves to be there, she deserves to wiiiinnnnnnnnn!!!! I thought that she would be America’s Next Top Model, she deserves it more than Bianca… It was so cool to see her and her photos because they are amazing… But now I guess that the last three girls will be: CHANTAL, JENAH AND SALEISHA, and if I have to pick one, I would say JENAH… Why? Because her photos are absolutely great and very strong, just look at this: http://cwtv.com/thecw/gen-gallery-antm09-models/7/6, it’s my favorite… Thank u for reading me… Peace from MEXICOOOO!!!
Heather:
You were robbed as you are by far the best of all the girls including Tyra! Find Victor Skrebneski in Chicago; he will turn you into an even bigger star.
Honestly, my family loves Heather. My son, Ryan, has Aspergers and he watched the show because of Heather. He said that if she can do it, then he can too. Since then, he’s tried to overcome his panic attacks and fears so he can do more. She was such an inspiration for him and I can’t thank her enough. She may not know it yet, but I’m sure there are lots of little boys and girls out there that look up to her now.
Heather, you added a reason for me to watch America’s Next Top Model. To me, the show is always a bore, but to be able to identify with someone on the show, well that’s excellent. You’ve probably given inspiration to tons of Aspergers kids around the globe, and you should be proud of yourself. God Bless you!
let’s vote Heather to be on Oprah or Ellen’s show.
I LOVE Heather!!! I was so upset when she got eliminated, I really wanted her to win.:-( And I hated it when the other girls were mean to her. I doubt if she will see this, but I LOVE her!
HEATHER!!!!

P.S. Plz reply
P.S.S. I rarely write in these websites but this is TOO important so i didn’t know what 2 write. So sorry 4 so many esclamation marks
I agree with Aisha. You have a very special quality about you that is rare along with your beauty. I think we should all write to Victor Skrebneski in Chicago as someone had posted above. I looked up his website and didn’t realize he had taken the some of the best photos of Iman I have seen but hadn’t known who the photographer was. If enough people write, I’m sure someone will do something. Bottom line they want to sell an image and Heather has it! Go Heather!
I love you,Heather!I do think you,re the best!Keep modeling..Take care..I miss you!
Heather u r so awesome. I don’t think u should hav gone home.ur pictures were lik the best out of everybody.I think u will have a great success. I luv video games. I’m thinking of doing video game designs 2. I luv rpgs and computer games. If u ever make video game designs i would luv to buy that game.Heather u rock!!!!!

GO BACK 2 ANTM! Best of luck!
Heather is fierce! i’m very upset when she’s gone in terms of asperger syndrome. I dun know what de hell happen to her? is it for destiny? it’s totally different from my imagination. She should won this competition and she’s the one that make antm cycle 9 to have best-watching. i vote for her 10 times better than other girls like Saleisha or Chantal. Heather has experiences of model and suitable for becoming the winner. but imagination is totally from reality and i’m very piss of tyra and i dun wanna open my eye to look in this cycle and i’m lookin forward to cycle 10. hope that it’s not the best one who is eliminated like this cycle 9.
HEATHERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

the JUDGES suck ass… they know sh*t about talent and personality! HEather’s more than just a beautiful face. i hope all the Judges read all this comments about you, heather. they should have known that they’ve made a HUGE damn mistake.they should PUT U BACK ON THE SHOW. and i know and BELIEVE for sure, u’ll win!!! damn it.. i AM bumped.ANTM my ass..
Does anyone know how I might be able to get in contact with Heather? She hasn’t logged into her myspace since mid February. I would like to interview her for a book that I’m writing about Asperger’s as I feel she is such a positive role model for people with the condition. I really hope someone can help, thanks!
Heather,
Thank you for continuing to be an inspiration to my teenaged daughter. You have provided her with the confidence that she, as a person with Asperger’s-like traits, will be accepted with all of her quirkiness and differences. She looks forward to the day that she meets you! As do I!
Hi Heather!
both me and u r a lot a like. I also have asbergers…i was so sad that u got eliminated i almost cryed….i got really attached 2 u heather u should go back cycle 11.u will win if u go back.i really hope u do….well god bless and best of wishes! I LOVE U HEATHER!!!
Hey Heather, I still wish you’d won Top Model but I wanted to let you know that you are an inspiration to me. I can come off as a little awkward and you being on the show represented us quirky people in a positive way which meant a lot to me. You are also a great role model to me!
Heather,
You inspire me everytime I watch cycle 9. I loved the way you danced out of panel after you were eliminated. You really spread your beauty and love around the world.

Heather,
My family and I are fans of yours and we were all hoping that you would have won ANTM. We were sad to see you voted off but were also proud of you that you were so wonderfully real and beautiful as well as humble.
My 18 year old son has Asperger’s and was so encouraged to see a young adult with aspergers on TV who could be a role model for people with ASD. Watching you on ANTM surely must have given much hope to other young people with ASD and may have possibly helped others understand what Aspergers is about. As you know, life with ASD can be rewarding and challenging. My son, like you, is a very talented artist who is also a perfectionist with his art and he wants to become a game designer as well as an artist.
We are a military family and participate in an Autism Support Group at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and would like to invite you to visit Fort Knox on 18 October for the ‘Make a Difference Day’ event that is scheduled for Fort Knox families and the surrounding community. Our Make a Difference event will focus on Autism and we will be ‘beading to beat autism’ on that day with proceeds going to autism research and to assist families of autisic children.
1 of every 150 children in the civilian sector are diagnosed with autism while 1 in 88 children of military members are diagnosed with autism. It is not understood why more children of military families are diagnosed with Autism, but our goal is to offer support and information as well as to provide the opportunity for family members to gather together to talk about our children and what works well and what doesn’t work.
The support group and the information provided by our facilitators have been very rewarding for me because my son wasn’t diagnosed until he was 13 and I never knew anyone else with an autistic child. I also understand now that early intervention is so important in helping autistic children learn to communicate and to meet their developmental milestones like their peers.
The Fort Knox support group is hosting the ‘Make a Difference Day’ on 18 October and we would be ever so honored to have you as a spokesperson for the event. We will be ‘beading to beat autism’ with 13 year old Michaela Riggs of Louisville, whose 7 year old brother is autistic. So far, Michaela has raised well over $200,000 for research for autism and to assist needy families with autistic children. Michaela has enlisted the help of friends, churches, children with ASD and their families to make bracelets that are sold for $3 with funds going to research and family assistance.
Heather, if you would be able to attend, my family and I would be happy to open our home to you and your family or we would pay for a room for you and your family to stay on Fort Knox or at a hotel outside of Fort Knox. We would also be happy to take you and your family sight seeing if you should decide to visit Fort Knox. We are about an hour away from Louisville, Kentucky.
We would also understand if you are not able to participate on such short notice. However, if you are not able to join us at this time, we would like to leave an open invitation to you to visit with us at any time. If you are unable to attend but would like to visit via video or satellite, we can make arrangements to do that as well.
Most importantly, Heather, thank you for putting the face of autism on TV so that others can see that people with ASD are very capable of being who and what they want to be. You have definitely not let Aspergers define you and your character and personality are inspring.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope to make your acquaintance soon.
Respectfully,
Lynn Young and Devin Young
