Ann Markley, the athletic beauty from Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model, is in the newest Wheat Thins commercial.
In the commercial, Ann has a showdown with the Wheat Thins. Don’t worry, she wins! For some reason, this commercial reminds me of those old Doritos commercials starring Ali Landry.

Ann is also all over the Wheat Thins website. Good for her to land such a big campaign! Sure, Wheat Thins aren’t sexy, but it pays the bills!

Yaya DaCosta, the runner-up in Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model will be on next season of Ugly Betty! According to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello, Yaya will play Wilhelmina Slater’s daughter, Nico.
Nico first appeared on the scene in season two and was played by Jowharah Jones. There’s no stated reason for the recast, but Ausiello tells us Yaya will appear in several episodes this season and will get caught up in a new mystery!
This is great news for Yaya, as it will be wonderful exposure for her acting career. Plus, Ugly Betty is a really fun show!

Jaslene Gonzalez, the winner of Cycle 8 of America’s Next Top Model, modeled on The Today Show this morning. The show did a segment on Paws for Style, an annual fashion show for dogs. There’s lots of celebrity guests and the event raises money for the Humane Society of New York and other animal rescue organizations.
The pets’ outfits are all original and are auctioned off after each fashion show.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Tyra Banks has signed on to do a guest spot on the CW hit Gossip Girl – and she isn’t playing herself.
Tyra’s character is somehow connected to Hilary Duff’s character. Hilary is doing a multiepisode guest spot as a famous actress who wants a normal college experience and becomes Vanessa’s roommate at NYU.
My guess? Tyra plays Hilary’s overbearing manager or agent or similar.
Tyra has appeared as herself in a few films recently, including Hannah Montana: The Movie and Tropic Thunder. Her last real acting gig was a guest role in 2004 on American Dreams. …read more

Isis King, the transgendered contestant who competed on Cycle 11 of America’s Next Top Model recently appeared on Larry King Live. The episode focused on the issues facing transgendered people and was cohosted by celebrity psychologist Dr. Drew.
Alexis Arquette also appears in the episode, along with a female-to-male transgender and a transgender mayor. The segment was inspired by Chaz Bono’s decision to come out as a transgendered person. Alexis is very articulate and compassionate on television and this entire episode is respectful and informative. I’m impressed, Larry King.

Rocketboom has a segment titled Know Your Meme, an internet video show that covers various online memes and trends, recently did an entire episode dedicated to Allison Harvard of Cycle 12 of America’s Next Top Model.
Allison was better known as Creepy Chan for the photos of her that appeared on the 4chan forums. The photos that made Allison notorious on this forum were swiped from her LiveJournal and DeviantArt accounts from as far back as 2005.

Eugena Washington, who placed third on Cycle 7 of America’s Next Top Model, is in a McCafe commercial with Dwele. In the commercial, Dwele is singing about the wonders of the whipped cream in the new McCafe Mocha. Eugena is bopping along to the beat then can’t resist the urge to have the drink herself!

There are a few of these Dwele-as-a-lounge-singer-who-loves-McCafe commercial. I find them funny, but what is with these recent commercial-as-music-video spots? Saleisha Stowers was recently in one too!

Joanie Dodds, who was the runner-up in Cycle 6 of America’s Next Top Model, got a quite a bit of work in Hong Kong during the past few years. One of those jobs was a music video for Juno Mak, a singer and record producer who is well known in hong Kong. The video, titled “The Secret” features Joanie as a domantirx-type. She sports both a blond and a black wig in the video.
There isn’t a solid plot structure to the video, but it isn’t bad and it’s good to see Joanie getting work!

The nominations for the 2009 Emmy Awards were announced this week. In light of that, Entertainment Weekly put together their list of the top 25 Emmy snubs over the years. America’s Next Top Model made the list at #17.
