Eva Marcille Talks Wedding Plans

Eva Marcille, the winner of Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model chatted with Essence last month about her upcoming wedding to Lance Gross.

The wedding is taking place on July 17, 2010 in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be a traditional Catholic ceremony followed by a reception outdoors:

The wedding is July 17 of next year in Los Angeles. It will be a Catholic wedding in a church with a reception outdoors. We are going with a fall color scheme. Amsale is doing my dress and the guys are wearing Tom Ford. I’m still looking for my planner, which is an experience in itself. I want someone who gets my style and can make it happen. I love my dogs and want them to come to the reception dressed in tuxes. I’m also changing to a second dress as we get ready to party.

Eva also talks about how she and Lance keep their relationship going despite their busy schedules, who she looks up to as relationship role models and more!

Her wedding sounds beautiful but very over the top! Dogs in tuxes? Sounds cute, but it’s not my thing.

Ann Markley Loves Wheat Thins

Ann Markley, the athletic beauty from Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model, is in the newest Wheat Thins commercial.

In the commercial, Ann has a showdown with the Wheat Thins. Don’t worry, she wins! For some reason, this commercial reminds me of those old Doritos commercials starring Ali Landry.

Ann is also all over the Wheat Thins website. Good for her to land such a big campaign! Sure, Wheat Thins aren’t sexy, but it pays the bills!

Yaya DaCosta Cast on Ugly Betty

Yaya DaCosta, the runner-up in Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model will be on next season of Ugly Betty! According to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello, Yaya will play Wilhelmina Slater’s daughter, Nico.

Nico first appeared on the scene in season two and was played by Jowharah Jones. There’s no stated reason for the recast, but Ausiello tells us Yaya will appear in several episodes this season and will get caught up in a new mystery!

This is great news for Yaya, as it will be wonderful exposure for her acting career. Plus, Ugly Betty is a really fun show!

Tyra Banks, Toccara Jones at BET Awards

Tyra Banks stepped out in an androgynous look at the BET Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles last night. Her look was no doubt inspired by Michael Jackson, as many stars payed tribute to the musical icon through their fashion choices, thoughtful words and musical performances.

I think this look is quite a risk for Tyra, but she definitely pulls it off. It’s once of her better red carpet looks in a while.

The BET Awards were started in 2001 to honor African American achievements in music, acting, sports and entertainment. In its eight years, it has turned into one of the largest and most exciting awards shows of the year. Last night’s show was a tribute to Michael Jackson.

Tyra and Michael have a history together – she appeared in his 1991 music video for Black or White. You can watch the video here, Tyra makes an appearance at 5:30 as one of the morphing heads.

Toccara Jones, who is a presenter for BET and competed on Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model walked the red carpet in a sexy black jumpsuit.

I think the jumpsuit is great, but I’m not a fan of her updo. What do you think?

I think it’s interesting that both Tyra and Toccara wore pant ensembles for their red carpet appearances. Red carpet fashion has certainly changed over the years and I appreciate the risks stars have been taking!

Eva Marcille at Young Hollywood Awards

Eva Marcille, winner of Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model attended the Young Hollywood Award for Daytime for her role as Tyra Hamilton on The Young and the Restless. The awards ceremony, which is in its 11th year, was held at the on Sunday night at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica, California.

I think Eva looked great with her ruffled white dress and relaxed hair and accessories. There are rumors flying that Eva took home an award at the ceremony, but she’s not on the official winners list, so I’m not sure. Can anyone help me out here?

Winners that evening included Rumer Willis for Breakthrough Performance Female, Ed Westwick for Breakthrough Performance Male, Bar Refaeli for Young Hollywood Crossover and Evan Rachel Wood for Young Hollywood Superstar. You can see a list of more winners here.

Top Models in Action: Yaya DaCosta

Last night’s Top Models in Action segment featured Cycle 3 runner-up Yaya DaCsota. Since appearing on America’s Next Top Model, Yaya has worked hard on her acting career and has quite a few successes! She’s appeared in a few movies, did a guest stint on All My Children and has gotten a lot of praise for her off-Broadway appearances.

I love Yaya and if you think outside the box of modeling, she’s one of the most successful contestants to come from ANTM. I think it’s great Top Model highlighted her.

Next week is the season premiere of ANTM! Who do you think will be the final Top Model in Action?

Top Models in Action: Eva Marcille

This week’s Top Models in Action was Cycle 3 winner Eva Marcille. Eva is one of the more successful winners of America’s Next Top Model. After her win, she did some commercial work before concentrating on her acting career. Currently, she has a regular gig on The Young and the Restless, playing a young mother named Tyra Hamilton.

i think it’s interesting that they really focused on Eva’s engagement to actor Lance Goss.

I wonder who is going to be next week’s Top Model in Action?

Ann Markley on Kings

Ann Markley, who competed in Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model made a brief appearance in last week’s episode of NBC’s drama Kings. The episode was the fourth in the series, titled “Insurrection.” Her character is never named, but appears to be a wealthy socialite who hosts parties of which invitations to are highly coveted.

Kings is a modern day take on the biblical story of David, in the fictional country of Gilboa. Gilboa functions and looks very much like the United States. In the scene where Ann appears, Prince Jack is trying to corrupt the stalwart young soldier and national hero, David, by introducing him to the princely way of life.

Ann now exclusively goes by the moniker “Annalaina Marks” now. She used it off and on earlier in her acting career.

Toccara Jones at Juelz Santana & Tim Thomas’s Birthday Bash

Toccara Jones, who competed in Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model attended Juelz Santana and Tim Thomas Birthday Bash at the Hiro Ballroom in New York City on February 25th.

I really like Toccara’s new haircut. It’s sleek and fresh and makes her look far younger than the longer, curly look she was sporting a few weeks ago. And the dress is pretty cute too!

Guests included Hot 97’s Angie Martinez & Miss Info, Rapper Freaky Zeaky, DJ Clue, Fabolous, Ron Brownz, Bobby Valentino and The Retro Kidz. The part looks like it was a lot of fun, with tons of drinking, singing and dancing. You can see photos from inside the party here.

Eva Marcille at Essence Luncheon

Eva Marcille, winner of Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model, attended the 2nd Annual Essence Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon. The luncheon, which celebrates young black women and their achievements in film and television, was held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on February 19.

Eva looked great in a simple but stunning black and white dress.
