Top Models in Action: Samantha Potter

April 30, 2009 by Erin Balser

Last night’s Top Models in Action segment featured America’s Next Top Model Cycle 11 runner-up Samantha Potter. I love Samantha and think she looked fierce on the Dutch catwalk (those red lips!) but think she’s a strange choice, as she hasn’t been modeling that long and most of her gigs have been related to ANTM or to prizes she won on the show.

I think the ANTM producers are trying to select recent girls so more casual and newer viewers will remember them. I’d love for Elyse or Samantha Francis to get an TMIA segment, but I bet only the die-hard fans will remember them and get excited to see their body of work.

Samantha Potter in Mary Mary Music Video

April 28, 2009 by Erin Balser

Samantha Potter, the Cycle 11 America’s Next Top Model runner-up appeared in Mary Mary’s music video for their single “God in Me.”

Mary Mary is a two-time Grammy winning gospel duo of sisters Erica Campbell and Tina Campbell. They are famous for their fusing of gospel with soul, hip hop, jazz and funk and are best known for their dance anthem “Shackles.”

Samantha appears in the video at 1:43. The video is based around a fashion show and Samantha is one of the models.

I’m glad to see Sam is getting work. I really liked her on ANTM and thought her look was a great throwback to the supermodels of the 80s. She recently signed with LA Models, so I hope we see more of her in the future.

ANTM Finalist CW Lounge Interviews

November 24, 2008 by Erin Balser

McKey Sullivan, Samantha Potter and Analeigh Tipton all visited the CW Lounge last week to answer your questions. Thankfully, these videos were put up on Youtube so I could share them with you!

Here’s McKey. She’s asked about what it feels like to win and how she kept quiet for a few months while the show aired!

Sam and Anleigh are below the jump!

Video: Analeigh and Samantha on The Big Bang Theory

November 11, 2008 by Erin Balser

Analeigh and Samantha made a brief appearance on CBS’s The Big Bang Theory. They didn’t play themselves, rather just contestants on America’s Next Top Model.

The idea was that Penny didn’t pay her cable bill and watches ANTM at the boys’ apartment. They become enraptured with the idea of a house filled with beautiful aspiring models and use their geek-talents to locate the house. It was a pretty fun episode and it does look like Sam and Analeigh enjoyed their role.

It’s too bad Sam didn’t have any lines. I wonder if she did and they simply got cut or they asked both girls to audition for the speaking role and Analeigh won.

Preview of Sam & Analeigh on The Big Bang Theory

November 10, 2008 by Erin Balser

Analeigh and Samantha will be on tonight’s episode of The Big Bang Theory. The preview below explains Wolitz’s new fascination with America’s Next Top Model, his determination to find the house the girls are living in and how their chance encounter comes to be.

The video also explains how Analeigh and Samantha got on the show. It’s not a challenge win, as I originally thought, but an original story-line. Although, you have to admit that the cross-promotion can’t hurt.

Here’s a quick video explaining the plot line. Analeigh compares working on a sitcom to the set of ANTM. It seems like she and Sam had a lot of fun!

The episode airs tonight on CBS at 8pm.

Analeigh & Sam to Appear on The Big Bang Theory

November 8, 2008 by Erin Balser

Analeigh and Samantha from this cycle of America’s Next Top Model will make an appearance on the November 10 episode of The Big Bang Theory. The episode is titled “The Panty Pinata Polarization” and Analeigh is billed as “Analeigh” and Sam is billed as “Samantha”, so they are playing themselves.

Wolowitz somehow becomes a fan of ANTM and this leads to him meeting the girls. How and why I’m not sure-I guess we have to tune in to find out!

This must be a challenge win from the next episode. I think it’s a bit weird that the win will air before the challenge does, but there’s no other explanation for it, is there?

The episode will air Monday, November 10 at 8pm on CBS.
