Adrianne Curry Launches Fashion Blog

January 15, 2009 by Erin Balser

Adrianne Curry, the winner of the first season of America’s Next Top Model, launched a fashion blog at LA.com on January 13.

“I will focus more on fashion, beauty, and fitness on my LA.com blog,” Adrianne writes on her MySpace. “I am a fountain of beauty tip knowledge, and can;t wait to put it to good use! I hope you guys sign up and wait for my ‘model’ blogs!”

Adrianne’s first post went up yesterday, but it was little more than an introduction. She promises we can expect more soon.

Somehow this blog is part of a larger project called Insta Shopping spree, a technology that instantly identifies the products a celeb is wearing in photos–and provides you with links so you can purchase them! You can check this out here.

I think the technology is really neat and could be useful for many fashion and beauty sites out there. However, I am really confused as to why Adrianne is involved. She’s never established herself as a fashion or beauty icon, other than her ramblings on her website and her MySpace.

Adrianne Curry Celebrates Anniversary of Blush

October 20, 2008 by Erin Balser

Adrianne Curry and her husband, Chris Knight were on hand to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Blush Boutique Nightclub inside the Wynn in Las Vegas.

Adrianne really towers over her hubby when she wears giant heels! I’m torn about her look–I like the idea behind the flirty tulle but is the execution working?

Adrianne Curry Gets Restraining Order Against Stalker

September 18, 2008 by Erin Balser

Sue Wong

Apparently, Adrianne Curry has had a stalker for over a year. That’s pretty scary stuff. Recently, she took out a restraining order out on the individual in order to protect herself and her family.

According to TMZ, the stalker has been harassing Adrianne since she refused to clean up her dog’s poop from the stalker’s lawn. TMZ has acquired all the documents in the case, and has posted them on their site. You can see them here.

“Only a stalker would know that my favourite colours are gold and garnet. Only a stalker would remember my shoe size. I almost threw up,” Adrianne was quoted as saying.

Adrianne is really not happy about this information being made public–she’s even written a blog post titled “F*** Off TMZ!” where she writes

“This isn’t a petty divorce, this isn’t a small custody battle…this is fucking serious. I fear for my safety. The fact that you would post this person’s info …even if it IS public record, is VILE.”

While it’s not nice that TMZ posted this stuff, it’s what they are known for doing. And they did acquire the documents legally–they are all open to the public. This sucks for Adrianne, but if you are going to be a public figure in today’s snarky, hyper-media world, you need to expect that stuff like this is going to happen, for better or for worse.

Adrianne Curry’s Controversial Natural Disaster Opinion

September 15, 2008 by Erin Balser

Grand Opening Celebration For Sashi: Sushi Sake Lounge

Adrianne Curry wrote about how she feels about natural disaster relief on her MySpace yesterday and her opinions have her commenters in an uproar!

Adrianne believes that those who refuse to follow evacuation procedures should have to pay for their own rescue and for endangering the lives of the rescue workers who save them once the disaster hits.

“I believe all these people should have to pay the bill for their individual rescues!” Adrianne writes. “When they issue a “certain death” warning and you are f****ing dumb enough to stay, you do not deserve free aid. I watched people being interviewed on the news claiming they bought a bunch of beer and BBQ to sit through the storm. I bet these same people are crying for help as I type.”

A lot of commenters feel that Adrianne is in a position of wealth and privilege and therefore do not understand the plight these hurricane victims–who are often poor–face everyday, let alone during a natural disaster. That, and no disaster evacution plan has been flawless (although Rita, for the most part, was an improvement upon past efforts.)

What do you think? Should Adrianne be allowed to voice her opinion on such topics? Or should she listen to her fans–to those who actually live in these areas?

Adrianne Curry Says No to Sarah Palin

September 14, 2008 by Erin Balser

Adrianne Curry, the original winner has never been shy about her politics. She’s written about John McCain, Barack Obama, God and abortion on her MySpace. Today, she took on another political hot topic–John McCain’s choice of running mate, Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin.

“I am against this woman ever making it into office,” Adrianne writes. “I do not vote for people based on color or gender, but rather, what they stand for and how closely it represents where I am in my life.”

However, Adrianne does encourage her fans who feel differently to get out and vote and voice their opinion–providing that it’s done in an educated and respectful manner.

In such a contentious and historical election, I think it’s great that people like Adrianne, with a younger fan base, are encouraging their fans to get involved with the election and learn about the issues facing them today and how each political party stands. Adrianne herself seems to be well-informed, which I think is an important precedent before you start speaking so publicly about the issues,

Adrianne Curry to Judge Reality Show

August 13, 2008 by Erin Balser

TV Guide's 5th Annual Emmy Party - Arrivals

Reality television vetern Adrianne Curry is going to put all her knowledge from America’s Next Top Model, The Surreal Life and My Fair Brady to use–she’s going to judge a reality show!

The show is called Gimme My Reality Show. Z-list celebrities like Ryan Starr from American Idol, Traci Bingham, Santino Rice from Project Runway, and Kato Kaelin will compete with each other to see who is most deserving of having a reality show dedicated to following their day-to-day lives. It is set to premiere on October 11 and will have a 4-episode run, with the winner being crowned on November 4.

Also sitting in the judges’ seats will be reality producer Scott Sternberg; and Daily Variety TV editor Michael Schneider (who?!! I know!). However, the final say in who gets thier own show will be left in the hands of viewers. This makes sense, since it will be these poor viewers left watching the winning reality show, when it premieres next season on Fox.

Even though I think this premise is fundamentally stupid–and the “celebrities” are not very enticing (except for maybe Santino!)–I’m excited to see what kind of judge Adrianne will be!

Will you be tuning in?

Adrianne Curry Believes in God

August 9, 2008 by Erin Balser

Adrianne Curry is never one to shy away from controversial issues on her MySpace blog. This week she takes on the idea of God and whether or not he exists.

Sue Wong "Opulent Restraint" - Arrivals

“Is there a God? I personally believe there is. I believe in good and evil, and I am on the good side. ; ),” Adrianne writes. “I have a hard time believing that God would expect me to believe a bunch of ancient ramblings. This is 2008. Unlike the people who wrote the bible, we know the world is round, what gravity is, that dinosaurs once ruled our planet, etc etc. The utter lack of education of people that long ago is what pushes me away from ‘The Book’.”

She also takes on the figure of Jesus, Scientology and more. She does believe in God, she argues, but not as a person. To Adrianne, God is an energy, the universe, and more.

You can read her whole post over at her blog. What do you think? Do you agree with Adrianne?

Happy Birthday Adrianne Curry!

August 6, 2008 by Erin Balser

Today is Adrianne Curry’s 26th birthday.

“I am a little sad because I realize how much quicker everything is going to fly by as time goes on,” Adrianne wrote on her MySpace yesterday. “I am also shocked at how much has happened in my life since I was born.”

Premiere Of Columbia Pictures 'Pineapple Express'

I think Adrianne has had a pretty good first twenty-five years and has lots more to look forward too! I wonder how she’ll celebrate today. Will it be a big bash with all her friends or a quiet dinner with her hubby?

Happy Birthday Adrianne!

Adrianne Curry is Pro-Choice

August 2, 2008 by Erin Balser

Sue Wong "Opulent Restraint" - Arrivals

Only a day after voicing her opinions about the presidential race, Adrianne Curry stepped up and voiced her opinions about abortion on her MySpace blog.

“I personally believe that until the central nervous system develops, it is NOT killing a baby,” Adrianne writes. “It doesn’t even look like a baby by then. Just an alien blob!”

Adrianne does recognize that she is in a unique situation and the prospect of an abortion is and never will be a question for her. However, she uses this circumstance to further inform her own opinions.

“I am lucky because I have never, nor will I ever be faced with the desicion of abortion (unless I am raped),” she writes. “However, just because I personally would never make that decision for myself, who am I or anyone else to tell another what they should do?”

I think Adrianne makes a strong point here, about how it’s about personal choice. However, she has spurred quite the debate up in her comments section. Adrianne’s always been really good at getting a debate going there.
