Britain’s Next Top Model Cycle 3 Episode 1 Recap
Here’s my recap of Britain’s Next Top Model Cycle 3 Episode 1:
Just after the girls arrived Lisa Snowdon (The Host) told them to rummage through their bags and chose something nice to wear for their first photoshoot!
Once they got dressed they walked down the stairs for pictures by a group of photographers.
Fashion editor Hilary Alexander then asked each girls some questions.
Then the girls headed upstairs for a little bubbly and to get to know each other. Then they were given the key to the Top Model House! They ran around trying to choose rooms. At first some girls were upset because they didn’t have beds, until they realized there were two more bedrooms downstairs. One thing different than Canada and America’s Next Top Model? There’s a king sized bed that two girls are sharing! I wonder if anything naughty will come of that?
Anyway, once they were all settled they found some Lisa mail. They were told that they were going to make their mark on London’s Fashion Week!
The next morning they met with fashion designer Nathan Jenden. He told them that one lucky girl will get to work it in one of his outfits that night at a big Fashion Week party! He gave each girl something to try on and then had them all walk in the clothes. He gave the girls each tips on their walks and chose Natalie as the winner. She got to choose two friends to come with her and she chose Dani and Abigail.
They headed off for the party and had a great time.
When they got home there was Lisa mail. It read:
12 girls, 12 months of the year and one world famous photographer. Be ready to go at 9 am.
The morning they arrived at the photoshoot to find out that Clive Arrowsmith would be the photographer. He’s going to make a calendar and each one will be a different month.
When they got home they had Lisa mail telling them they would be meeting with the judges the next day.
The girls then had a house meeting where they started bickering with one another with heavy accents and I to be honest I’m not sure what they were saying the whole time. But it ended up with a girl throwing her drink on someone else and the makings of a fight. Some girls think the way they acted might cause them to be eliminated. We’ll see!
The next day at eliminations the panel was introduced. Paula Hamilton (Former Supermodel), Johnathan Phang (Industry Expert), and last but not least Clive Arrowsmith (Photographer). Then the prizes were announced:
- A contract with Models 1
- Will be the face of Ruby Millie Cosmetics
- A fashion spread and cover on Company magazine
Next was time for their individual evaluations. First up was Stefanie:
Jonathan felt she looked uncomfortable Lisa agreed and thinks she needs to relax a bit more.
Louise: Paula thought her pose was bad for her body, Jonathan likes the face but the hair should have been in another picture.
Krystal: She thought she was going to cry when she saw her picture. Paula thinks that what she needs for the picture, a sparkle in her eye…
Natalie: The judges loved what Natalie was wearing and thought her legs go on forever making her look like a model just standing in front of them at panel. Then to her picture, they all thought it was wonderful. Lisa thinks it’s a really powerful image.
Abigail: Clive felt there was a lack of variety in her looks.
Rebecca: Lisa loves the picture and thinks she has great attitude and that it looked regal.
Dani: They felt she looked aggressive and scary.
Holly: Jonathan said that the good news is she’s photogenic, but the bad news is that the picture doesn’t work at all. He thought her posture was bad and that she didn’t look comfortable at all. Lisa thought her skin looked amazing and Clive thought she looked like a rabbit caught in headlights.
Sherece: Paula thought she looked very beautiful but wanted to see it come through more in the eyes. Jonathan felt she looked slightly sour.
Lauren: Lisa thought her body looked amazing. Jonathan thought she could be borderline glamour modelish.
Lucy: Lisa thought it was the most amazing photo and it was gorgeous.
Carly: She came out on crutches. Apparently she has some sort of skin infection. :( Paula thought she looked bored.
The judges deliberated and then came back to announce who would go home.
This is the order in which pictures were given out: Lucy, Krystal, Louise, Natalie, Rebecca, Stefanie, Carly, Sherece, Lauren, Holy.
The bottom two were Abigail and Dani. Lisa said Abigail’s photo was one of the weakest and she was falling short in all aspects. She said Dani’s photo lacked personality and they feel she’s just not working it hard enough.
Abigail stays! thanks goodness, because she’s really cute and Dani has a really weird look.
