BNTM 5.09 “Face, Face, Face” Recap

The girls are immediately thrown into a photo shoot for Company magazine, the magazine that is going to put the winner on the cover. The twist is that the photo shoot is with the famous band the Script. This causes a few girls to get star struck and affects the photo. Sophie wins, even though I can’t stand her and send voodoo vibes her way all episode. She chooses Daisy to come with her adn they have an amazing time and eveyone is oh so jealous.
The second challenge of the week is a commercial for Special K. Lisa has done several commercials for the company and tells the girls now is the time to step up. She’s especially concerned about Viola and even gives her a special pep talk. Jade also gets a special pep talk because of her weight. Despite this extra attention, Sophie takes home the prize for the second time this episode. I need to start liking this girl – she’s probably going to win. The real winner this episode, though, is Mecia, who gets video-proposed to. It’s weird, but it makes her happy and that’s what matters.
The photo shoot is a recreation of the famous Kate Moss lace body suit beauty shot. Terry, who photographed the original, is not impressed with anyone, except Mecia, who he thinks is hot, and Jade, who has something special. He’s a pretty harsh critic, but I think I prefer that to those who praise everyone, like last week.
After the shoot, Lisa used this opportunity to show off her skills from Strictly Come Dancing. The dancing isn’t completely irrelevant, as Lisa uses it to reveal that the girls are headed to Buenos Aires! That’s exciting, but man, Lisa needs to take some “international destination reveals” lessons from Tyra Banks. I want costumes, pinwheels and kangaroos!
At panel, Terry clearly hates the entire process and everyone in the room except Jade. Her photo is stunning and it’s no surprise when she gets the first call-out. Louis and Lisa are more forgiving but even they can’t save Daisy and her wonky eye. Aww, poor Daisy. I liked her a lot.
Daisy deserved to stay
she’s given two high fashion pictures in this series and some other gorgeous ones. I truly can’t stand Sophie! Her pictures are really lackluster and she just looks so dull!
what does everyone see in ashley that I don’t? she’s terribly annoying and doesnt even look like a model!
I agree! I can’t believe Daisy left – I thought she was top 2 or 3 for sure! Sophie and Ashley both drive me insane. I love Jade and am rooting for her to win, but I can’t see them letting a girl with an eating disorder – even if she’s recovering – win.
I bought the latest Company Magazine, it has the shoot inside. Strangely, Jade’s photo is much better than the one they showed at panel AND it’s much better than the rest of the girl’s too!!
I love Ashley though, she’s so funny!! And her face photos beautifully, she just doesn’t look like a model in real life though.
I think if Jade doesn’t win, I at least want Viola… they’re the only two left that look like models! What were they thinking sending so many modelicious looking girls (hayley, daisy, kacey etc) home so early?
I love Jade – she’s so sweet and natural and not at all “up herself” like Sophie. I can’t stand Sophie, she’s such a bitch and she really loves herself. I’d laugh my head off if she got eliminated. I agree Daisy should have stayed, but I do also like Ashley. She’s a bit hot headed but there’s something about her. I think Viola’s beautiful, but I don’t think she has what it takes to be a model. The problem is, of the remaining girls, who will win? I’m thinking awful Sophie because she’s blonde and confident. I’d love Jade to win but, bless her, she’s less bubbly and so thin – so wouldn’t send out a good message.
