  Has anybody ever audtioned that is not quite 5′7. I just wanted to know if I should even bother. I am like 5′5 or 5′6. Will they even let me audition? Will they measure me with my shoes on or off? Please anybody that has been to an audition let me know? Thanks. Good Luck to all of the others that are trying out.

  I’m not sure about the real limit,
  but I think you at least have to look like a 5′7″.

  I think you should try anyway..you never know, if your shorter than 5′7″ but you look taller in pictures, they might find that you could be a great print model for magazines n stuff. Also, if you do decide to go, remember to stand straight with good posture so you apear a little taller than you are. They ask you how tall you are in the application, so whether they measure with shoes or not, height will be one of the first things they look at.

  Bianca,
  I dont mean to crush your dream, but if you do not reach the height requirement, do not even bother. Even if you wear heels to the casting call and get called to the second round because you look tall enough, they take measurements and make you take off your shoes and even hold/pull your hair down so that they get your true height by basically measuring your scalp. Plus, they do not even look at your application until you have been selected as one of the many few who are chosen to go on to the next round of casting.

  Bianca- I wish you good luck but if you’re only 5′5″ I’m not sure if you should bother. They wouldn’t let you try if you were above or below the age requirements. Maybe you could send some photo’s to an agency of some sort (I’m from St. Louis and we have a smaller agency that books pretty large print ad jobs for Macy’s and stuff like that). But regardless of my opinion I hope you do well

  I am 6′3. Too bad they aren’t coming to Arizona. I have auditioned before but didnt get it, but Im always up for trying and trying until my dream happens. Never let anyone hold you from your dreams. If your 5′5, you may not be good for runway modeling, but you can be a magazine model. Someone once told me I was too tall to be a magazine model, but you may be a good height for that. There is always ways to be your dream, just have to find the right path.

  for the big cities i’m pretty sure they wont post the location until it is very close to the date they are coming…when i tried out in LA the audition was on a saturday and i only found out that wednesday.

  thanks, i went to dallas in march, i hear that since they try to rotate cities, it will be in houston instead of dallas. it’s worth it to go to the auditions with the casting directors there.

  i went to a casdting call with the producers there, and i just felt better about the whole thing, because if you try out in a smaller city without prodeucers present, they will send you to the nearest casting call city anyways. it just seemed more…right i guess.

  Hi, I have a question. I want to audition for cycle 12 but I will not be in the US untill sometime in August, does that mean that I need to wait untill next year for cycle 13 or can I still send in my application???

  CAN’T TELL!!! It seems like you know alot of answers. I was wondering if you could help me. I am trying to go to an audition in TX. I am currently in Houston. I was going to go to one I thought was in Huntsville, Tx. But it ended up being in Alabama. I already missed the one in Lubbock. I was wondering if you know if they’re going to have any more auditions in TX for cycle 12, and if I send in the application and video can I still do an open call. Please reply. Thanx!

  the eligibility requirements state that there will be open casting calls during the months of august and september, but obviously they have started early in july. therefore, there will mostlikely be another casting call in texas before casting calls are over,probably in a larger or major city as they tend to save those for last (hence LA was the last casting call and the casting director was present). it’s up to you if you decide to send in a video (due by midnight July 25) AND go to an open call, but you are only supposed to do one form of the application process-either send in the video or go to the open casting call. keep checking the locations of the casting calls on cwtv.com to see if there will be one in your city.

  Hello All!

  well i tried out in Ft. Myers and i was so nervous! i think i did pretty good tho!- htey have you wait in a seperate room and you get a number, then when your number is called you walk into a room with a panel of 3 judges, a camera man anad another man and they ask you 3 questions… they asked me “why do i want to be americas next top model?” “what do i think is my best feature?” and “name, age, where i came from?” and then you just leave and im praying and HOPING i get chosen!

  Hey everyone..I went to the casting call yesterday in RI. I thought there was going to be a huuugeee line turned out that at 12:00, when it was starting, there were only 12 girls there. I was number 11. It was a great experience and ALL the girls were really nice. Only they didnt call you in one by one..you waited in a line until it was your turn to go on the stage and everyone could watch. I had a few butterflies in my stomach right before I went but once I stood there it all went away. They ask you to state your name, age, heigth, weight and city you are going to be representing..then you do a front to back catwalk, and a left to right catwalk across the stage, then they asked for a left and right side body profile. Then they asked you questions. The questions aren’t all the same for each person so you cant prepare for them. Thats tough lol. Anyway..they didn’t say when they’d be doing callbacks..it could be days, weeks even a month so just be patient for those of you waiting. :) good luck to everyone that went to casting. Any questions just ask n I’ll give you an answer best to my knowledge!

  well the question they ask everyone is “why do you think you have what it takes to be americas next topel model”..they asked me to pick a girl in the past cycles that i was most alike, and least like..they asked me what my occupation was, and they asked me how bad i wanted this, and how competative i was. Just be honest too..and trust me..youll get like butterflies, but once your up there it all goes away..its only during the anticipation of your turn that gets you nervous.

  And what to wear…Thats really up to you..If you want to show off your legs if you’re tall, wear shorts, not denim shorts though. Wearing you’re hair up or down doesnt really matter, just the main thing is try not to wear anything that will gets the judges focus, YOU want to be the focus. good luck!!

  OH YEA..I was under the impression that you needed to bring a swimsuit..but I didnt wear mine, I just brought it in case..they didnt even ask us to walk in our swimsuits..that would only be the case if you were called to the finals. So maybe just bring it in case ya kno..lol

  OH YEA…lol and another thing..they say they want to see copies of like passport, drivers license or whatever you have. I brought my license and my social security card…but they want ACTUAL COPIES. So if you have a scanner or maybe the local library near you to make eligable copies..that will save you time and money of having someone charge you to do it at the casting.

  But like i said, all the questions were different for the girls almost..so preparing might get you really overwhelmed and worrying to much on studied answers for what they might ask you. If you can remember what you wrote down for the ?’s on your application, it will be cake for you, b/c they ask most of them from the application.

  Thanks so much for the advice. It’s in Huntington, West Virginia. Do you know anything about bringing pictures? I’ve heard yes bring pictures, but on the website it doesn’t really mention anything about it unless you don’t actually go to a casting call and just send in the application.

  your welcome-yes bring pictures. there was a girl there who didnt bring hers and she didnt have money to pay a photographer there to take some. If you dont have ne and cant get ne in time, they MIGHT have a photographer there to take them for you, but its like 35-50 bucks. And they dont have to be like professionally done. I had a swimsuit shot from when I went to cali for a shoot and that was the only one that was done by a photographer. for my full body clothed shot I stood outside my house, did a little pose, and for my headshot I did the same..went to walmart and printed them. As long as they are clear than you will be fine. But I would definteley try to bring them, if not than bring some cash in case there is a photographer there.

  you must bring an application (and photos of yourself and copies of your SS card, passport, license) to the open call. i’d suggest doing that rather than sending a video because there is no way to know if they received your video.

  You mentioned callbacks..I kno some people have said they’ve gotten callbacks, but I’m not so sure whether they have or havnt…I think they did some callbacks to girls who they want to see again but just have them going to another casting call with other girls too, not the ones that have made it to the finals or ne thing. B/c at my casting call they said they do not kno when they are starting callbacks yet..I mean, cycle 11 doesnt even air until september 3rd..so they still have a lot to do ya kno..we were assured that the producers are sent all of our applications after the casting call and they will narrow it down to the finalists. So it could even be like october-ish until they even do callbacks b/c they wouldnt start filming cycle 12 until novemeber/december-ish. But I did mention to a woman calling us in at casting about callbacks and she said she doesnt even think theyve started yet b/c the casting calls arent over.

  thats just what I heard.

  I mean girls… do you even read the application??? It says that the show will be recorded october-november so call the real call backs should be sometime in august… so be pending of those phones!! Cycle 11 is done, recorded and someone won already. They are probably just making the final cuts and putting stuff together (it was recorded during May-June).
  And they won’t start calling back until they are done with the castings… but that will be soon anyway,…

  hey everyone.. i dont see my casting call date up ther.e. but mine is on friday in new jersey at clementon park.. i am a little nervous. I dont have a passport yet, so is it okay if i bring a copy of my license and social or birth certificate? also, the auditions start at 11 and go until 2. What time do you think i should be there? Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated!

  same thing happened to me, they changed/removed the casting call i was originally going to attend and i called the CW network. I cant post the phone number on here b/c I dont know about security reasons n everything..but I would google the CW network closest to where the casting call was that you were going to and ask to speak to the promotions person. That’s what I did and when they changed mine it meant they werent doing that casting call at that location ne more..so I had to go to the next one closest to me. So if its not posted ne more, they prolly arent doing it there ne more..so you should def give the CW a call and ask. Umm..the casting call I was at only had 12 girls there when it started at 12..there wasnt even a line..Im pretty sure it depends on the location and the population of City or town its in..on the safe side i would show up atleast a couple hours early.

  type in “contact cw” in google windown and click on first link..it will list a contact number, email, and address..and they might give you a diff number for a cw network in the city the casting call is in if they arent sure, ask for that ne ways if they dont offer it..so make sure you have a pen :) hope that helps

  oh no no..if its on the CW website your fine..this isnt like the website they go to to keep updating..as long as its on the CW then you should be all set. just keep checking everyday ya kno, that way it doesnt change on you last minute. good luck!

  well i applied for cycle 11 and i didnt get a call back. im applying for cycle 12 in detroit on tuesday. To answer ariels question once i finished by tape i asked one of the crew members when the call backs were gonna start, he told me like a little less than a month. im pretty sure that after u get a call back u will be asked to fly out to cali or another location (u gotta pay for ur own ticket/ hotel) and there will be semi finals, after that whos ever picked goes to finals but first they send u home to pack up and spend a ‘little’ time w/ fam and freinds, u will then be sent to anther location..all expenses paid..and then u will be seen by tyra, then she choses the girls.

  thanks anda.. i know ill probably wind up talking with some of the girls there. ariel.. yeah i wouldnt mind meeting up. i was gonna ask if my husband would come but i think he has to work so i think im riding solo lol. oh well, hopefully it wont be too crowded and we wont have to wait outside in that heat.. its gonna be like 94 and really really humid! you know what that means for us girls..   for the frizzy hair..the little beauty trick I use is if you are straightening your hair, bring a dryer sheet with you and every once in a while run it over your hair..it will reduce the static and remain defrizzed–(you kno, like how you use it under a skirt to keep it from sticking to you–same thing :p ) and if you arent straightening it and want it natural but it still puffs everywhere..go to walmart and in their little 98 cent bins in the hair/deodorant section get a little bottle of the pantene hair spray..sprap it on your hands and run your fingers through your hair while messin in up a little..it will look natural but wont get crusty at all ya kno!

  At my casting call, the time says from 9am to 4pm. Anyone know how that works? I mean, I can’t imagine having to be there that whole time. Do you just get a number or whatever and then once you get called and interviewed, can you leave? Hopefully they don’t have it from those times because they’re anticipating a lot of people. Haha.

  You dont to wait there the whole time..lol..I got to my casting call and I thought there was going to be a huuuuge line..as i said before..there were about 12 girls lol..but I think it was because of the location and how small the population was..if they are saying there will be a lot of girls there than yea I would def show up atleast a few hours early..and if there is a line..bring a little lawn chair and get your tan on until it it starts..ha. But yea that is a really long audition time..mine was from 12-5..and if yours is that long I would def plan on being early…because the process for mine went at 12..they started giving the girls their numbers and registering them, which was over in about 20 minutes as there were so few of us..But with yours they will start at 9 by giving each girl a number and registering them and if there are still girls left over by the time 4pm rolls around and they dont have a number yet, then they’re out of luck (which is why you want to give yourself time to be pretty early to make sure you get registered) and with the bigger casting calls I think they have been calling girls in by 100 at a time..lining them up, having you state name age height weight and city your representing and even call out numbers to stay and the others have to leave

  I figure there may be a good amount of girls there, but who knows. It’s at a mall so I don’t know how the whole process is going to work. I would imagine it would be inside, I didn’t even think about having to wait outside. Ooops…haha. I don’t know how they’re gonna have it set up. Probably right in the middle of the mall for everyone to see or something. Who knows. I plan on being early, which means waking up at the crack of dawn cause its like a 45 minute drive. No fun. Oh well, I guess we’ll see. Two days to go…I’m getting so anxious!

  So does anyone know exactly how long it takes to receive a call back? Went to auditions 07/12 and am wondern how long I should wait until I can assume Im not gettn a call back.. And, can u be selected to go to the semi-finals at the open call auditions? If anyone can help that’d be great! Thanks girls!

  Andrea, if the casting calls are at the mall you may have to wait outside on the line to get registered, but eventually you will be inside on the line, depending on how early you arrive. Once they do the casting it should be in an empty store that is no longer in business and nobody can watch besides the producers asking you the questions.

  Amanda, don’t freak out about your birth certificate yet. All they want right now is a COPY of your driver’s license. birth certificates, passports, etc aren’t important until you are further along in the selection process.

  CNewt, they have no way of knowing when you should expect a callback. Once they have finished with the open casting calls at each location the videos are sent to california to be observed by the producers and then you may receive a callback for semi-finals. Filming for cycle 12 starts around October so if you haven’t heard anything by late September that probably means you won’t be getting a callback.

  I was just wondern because one of the cw peep at the open call said they’ll call u ina a couple of days or within the next week for semifinals.. She may not have knew what she was talkn about tho. I ve just heard so many things, I wanna kno the truth! Lol, but the app did say they’ll give u about a weeks notice to pack ur stuff and arrange with ur employer to go to LA for a week. So if indeed filmn does start October, calls should be made no later than mid-late September.. Thas way to long to be waitn for a call!

  Hey girls! I went to two casting calls- one on Sunday and one on Thursday, both in MD. Both calls were scheduled for three hours, but the first one ended early because the line ran out (although when I got there, the line was about 300 girls long) and the other one had such a turnout, they ended up turning a lot of girls away. I got a yellow card at the first call, which invited me back to the second one on Thursday, so if you’re hearing about girls getting callbacks, that’s probably what they’re talking about. Once they realized there were too many people to be seen at the second casting call, they started saying that only girls with callback cards would be seen. At that casting call, girls went up to the judges table/camera in groups of five and announced their name, age and height, as well as something that differentiated themselves from the rest of the girls there. They had three casting calls around the DC area within a week or so, so the whole callback thing might only be for the larger cities. The first casting call I went to was in a mall and we had to walk down a runway in front of everyone and say our name, age, and height. The second one was at a car dealership (random!) and we had to wait outside. It was hot and miserable, so be prepared to wait in the heat! I would recommend bringing water and wearing comfortable shoes. You can always change into the nice heels when you get further up in line. :) You are supposed to fill out the application form and bring it with you along with three photos and copies of your driver’s license, birth certificate, etc. Details are at the CW website. A lot of girls did not have anything to turn in at all, but they were still allowed to audition. The application is how they get your contact info. though so it’s definitely a good idea to bring it with you. Hope this gives you a better idea of what to expect!

  I think they just said the cwtv.com site and I’ve been checking it but haven’t found anything. They probably won’t post anything until after all the casting calls are over with and they’ve narrowed it down to the semi-finalists or finalists.

  I’m pretty sure either the application or the eligibility requirements say that if you go to an open call, you do not need to send in a video. So either go to an open call and hand in your application there, without video, or mail in your application, with video. Won’t hurt to read through the application and eligibility requirements to confirm that, though.

  Hey guys and good luck to you all. I tried out at the Passport BMW location in MD and was blown away by the line. It went all the way down AUTH PL. This was my first time auditioning and it was about 5:30pm when i finally got a parking space. I went to stand in line and one of the woman told me to go to the front of the line since it was my first time auditioning. Another woman took me inside to go audition immediately. I felt a little bad because everyone else had been standing outside for the longest time and it was atleast 90 degrees. I went with a line of 5 girls and stood in front of 3 panel members. We were told to state our names, height, age, and why we would be an asset to the show. I

  OH ps, just incase yall are wondering how it goes, if you show up at the casting call, you do NOT need to bring the tape, if you submit through mail, you MUST have the entire package together.

  Some of the casting calls will have the forms there for you to fill out. You should have time to fill it out in line, but I wouldnt count on it!! In SLC there were NOT alot of girls in line!! I thought I would wait for hours on end…I showed up at 12:30, and was out of there by 1:30. You stand in one line with your paper work, then they have you fill out your envelope and put all of your information inside (including any pictures you would like to staple on to your packet) you then go to a second line where you wait to be called. Once you walk into the casting room, you stand on a red carpet, facing the cameras and lights, and say your name, city and why you want to be ANTM. Then you set your stuff down and do a walk for them, all the way to the end of the cat walk, and all the way back. pose pose, and you are done. They say thank you and you leave.
  I am curious as to WHEN we find out if we made it or not though!!! I am crossing my fingers!! :)

  At the two casting calls that I went to, my mom was allowed to hang out with me in line up until a certain point, so your sister should be able to keep you company for the majority of your wait. :)

  If you read the eligibility requirements…

  You had to bring send in
  1)Passport AND License
  OR
  2)Social security AND birth certificate.

  So no you can’t just have your license you would need a passport too.Just letting you know.

  well i dont know if it is different at every place but when i went a week ago, i didnt need a drivers license or passport. on the application u just have to write your drivers license number but thats all. i doubt it is different every where else. still i would bring a copy just in case :)

  I auditioned exactly a week ago. I made a copy of my birth certificate and social security card and when it came my turn they said they just need a copy of my drivers license. I guess it is different everywhere else. I think I could have done better..I was just nervous because it was my first time auditioning because i’m 18. I hope to make it though. But if I don’t i’m going to keep trying…that’s what half the girls that made it did. It was 2 guys in the room with me..my little sister got to go in with me. They asked why I should be americas next top model? whats the craziest thing i’ve done? How would I feel about living in a house with 13 girls?….Then they wanted to do a little commercial thing with my sister and I saying your watching gossip girl on the valley’s cw…and stuff like that…it was pretty cool…i don’t know how many girls were there but i was #53 and I got there at 8:30 when it started at 9-2 and girls were still comeing in around 12….when it was my turn they said they reached their 100th girl. But anyways, good luck to everybody.

  Hi, I just tried out a couple weeks ago and I made it past the first round of call backs. They had us come back the second day where we had to have our applications compeltely filled out they had us anser a bunch of question based on our application answers, there were lots of girls crying because they asked them about emotional subjects. I got super nervous and competly forget everything I wanted to say when it was my turn and I don’t think I did that well but we’ll see. They had us cat-walk in bikinis too, jeez. I hope I make it and good luck to everyone. they also told us that we were not supposed to tell anyone we even made it this far even though it is only the first round of callbacks. So most likely if you were not asked back for a second day you will not be making it, sorry. Better luck next time!

  Ya all of the auditions are different guys…
  They had us turn in everything at the first audition. They havent had call backs yet. I think her state must have had a second audition.
  Our state only had a few hundred apply, so they had it over with in one full day. Some states have thousands apply so they have to do it in more then one day. Make sense? If anyone has had call backs, let us know!

  Hey girls, I was reading all these messages, and each one makes me freak out a bit more! haha just kidding. Amanda and Gabriella, I also went to the Fort Myers casting call, and it was very organized in my opinion, HOWEVER, apparently after the girl #100, they didn’t seem to have any more time for all the questions and decided to limit them to “Name, city and do runway walk” because the casting was supposed to end at 3 PM and it was already 2, and many girls waiting still. So…makes you think is not “Fair” for the other girls who couldn’t speak more about themselves. I don’t know. But Good Luck to everybody!

  hey girls..I kno a lot have asked about callbacks…and a lot have heard many different things..but what I heard from the woman who was giving our numbers to the girls and registering us was that callbacks could take as a long as a month. they still have a lot of casting calls and the girls that say they got a callback already, I dont think they mean those calls are for the finalists..those calls Ive heard are calls just for those girls to go to another casting call so they can have more time to judge them..Im almost positive they wont do callbacks for the finalists until ALL the casting calls are through..makes sense since they have a lot more girls to check out until sept. My casting call was the middle of July and I just tell myself I have to be reaaallllyyyy patient..yea it stinks but dont doubt for a second that just becuz you havnt gotten a call within a week after the call you went to, doesnt mean you wont still get one. Just be patient..good luck to everyone that auditioned!!

  Hi, I got a voice mail from someone from “Americas next top model” while I was at work. I didn’t get a hold of them yet, but my sister was called too and she said they said something about nyc. From there I guess they will send a tape of you from there to Tyra? I was wondering then, what was the other tape I sent in then for? I just hope its not a scam because what is the chance they would call both me and my sister back. Just some thoughts and wondering if this happened to anyone else?

  The info sheet said be prepared to wait long, but then they said there should be no lines because this is invitation only? How many steps after this? I don’t live close enough…I wonder how we find out if this is legit. The only thing though is the expense I would have to spend/bad timing. I am so curious of how many girls got contacted to move on so I would have an idea.

  im wondering if they pick the girls who are from around ny and bring them in with the producers for a second round because there are so many who apply in that area. where im from there were maybe only 70 girls, and ive read that they pick one from each casting. so in bigger cities maybe they need a second look or the pick more girls rather then a small town like were i auditioned

  I auditioned in Shreveport on the 18th of July, and I was very Thankful I’ve actually done something I’ve always dreamed of doing. Now what really matters to me is I stepped out on Faith and as long as God knows you all tried, He will still make two steps for you. Never give up even if your Phone Rings or Not.

  Well I went to the Charlotte audition today. There was probably a total of 400-500 girls there and they didn’t even advertise on the radio or news or anything for ANTM not sure how girls found out about it. Anyways, so the time was suppose to be 11-3 I got there @ 1:30 and the line was huge!!!!!! I left @ 4:30. They didn’t cut anybody out but it was weird like first we waited in the garage parking deck of a hotel then went inside then went outside then back inside and finally into this room where a guy made us sign in we did that and handed in our Application and pics. Make sure everyone brings @ least 3 pics!!!!
  Then went on to the judging room. It was a room with 3 judges and a video camera. we had 2 line up heel to toe which is very very close to girls you dont know lol and the camera went around very very slowly and you had to say your name, age, height, and weight. This wasn’t the first time so I’ve heard that they’ve done auditions like this but I didn’t even have to walk in front of nobody I had in my mind some questions ready to answer and didn’t even have to talk besides the whole name and age thing. After about 100 girls did their stats the girl judge said ok everyone grab your belongings and if I don’t call your number you can exit out of the room, I was like dang! The girl right in front of me was called along with 2 other girls. I’m not sure how many out of Charlotte were asked to stay all together but just from my group about 3 girls. So then we left. Better luck next time.

  The girls that were asked to stay had very little makeup on, flat shoes and very casual outfits like one had on a tank top and capris w/her hair pulled back not sure about the other ones.

  Also, make sure you listen to EVERYTHING the judges say and be serious like you want it bad in the judging room because when the camera first started going around we were all smiling-you know trying to give them our best look and the girl judge was like stop smiling!!! Everyone kinda chuckled and she was like NO I’M SERIOUS!! STOP SMILING. THIS IS SERIOUS GUYS. I was just like dang they dont want anyone to have fun do they lol.

  But all in all it was fun, I met a lot of really nice girls, even the girls I thought were going to be snotty turned out sweet. So good luck to everyone and be confident. The best advice I can give is just be yourself and dont try to hard to where you look fake.

I’ve audtioned before but I cholked on the last question when they told me ” last chance to tell tyra why YOU think you should be on america’s next top model” lol. ya.. whoever is audtioning be prepared to tell them all the positives about your self, recite it to yourself a billlion times before auditioning, because when it comes down to lights and cameras and your in front of the producers, I gurantee it’s a rush… I heard girls go off topic and tell them that theyre the perfect fit for the show because they’re tall and pretty. they dont want you to state the obvious they want to know what you got inside personality wise and how much confidence you have.

  *just a note, if ya’ll are wondering what to wear they want you to come in with a form fitting outfit so that leads to

  no boots. just regular high heels

  no dresses, and no blouses that hids your figure!

  yes jeans/pants will due.

  don’t forget to take your bathing suit, i’ve never been to an open call last time i had a private interview with just 20 girls but take one just incase!!!!!
