ANTM 11.11 “The Final Five” Photos
November 6, 2008 by Erin Balser
On last night’s episode of America’s Next Top Model, the final five went on go-sees and did two photo shoots with Tyra Banks–an au natural before shot, not unlike the polaroid models take at their agencies and an after shot, where the girls were dolled up dramatically.

MCKEY is hella fierce….anyone knows if the episode has been uploaded online? I can’t find it on youtube
The inevitable happened: The ice-princess didn’t have a trump card to play and was sent home. Deep down inside I wanted her to do a come-back routine but it just wasn’t meant to be. ::sniff-sniff::
Now to McKey: Woman…have you lost your mind??? This close to the end and she’s gonna’ let her guard down. I’m never a fan of a “win by default” outcome but McKey deserved to lose the challenge more than Ana Leigh deserved to win it. Final 5, ladies. Your game needs to be ON and this was a hard lesson for McKey.
Samantha. These are some good, REALLY good, photos. Was it just Nigel or did everyone else scream out “Calvin Klein” when her before shot was shown?
Marjories AFTER shot was stunning. STUNNING!!
It’s getting close, people. Marjorie takes the prize. Ana Leigh runner up and Sam on 3rd. (So it is written…so shall it be done!)
Why is they called pottie productins? I like Samnanths too.
@ Michael
Marjorie wins? interesting. Anyways, I do think her dramatic picture was fierce…so was Sam’s…but MCKEY’S just blew me away. The girl just keeps delivering week after week after week. I didn’t like her at first but now, she’s my favorite. Same with Sam, I didn’t like her but the girl can transform herself. I would have never guessed that the blonde-haired cali girl from casting cud pull off high fashion.
Mckey should win if tyra is looking for real top model quality. However, I have a feeling she will not. Analeigh is more suitable for the Seventeen mag/ tacky covergirl wal-mart products market. Fortunately, girls who don’t win always do better than the winners, in most cases.
DA-YUM, I’m sorry for keep posting but I am mesmerized by MCKEY’s pictures…DA-YUM!!
The qualtiy of some of these photos is so poor it make me sad. Tyra needs to take a few more photography courses.
On the other hand, Analeigh looks amazing. I am so glad she held through those first few hard weeks.
I actually think the pictures look really good…quality-wise.
I couldn’t agree with Hollywood BS any more about Ana Leigh. You really hit that nail on the head. Ana Leigh IS a fantastic model but she is 99% commercial. I can easily see her doing toothpaste, nutrigena, I-tunes, junior ads. I can’t picture her in high fashion. Not to say she doesn’t have the ability to do it…I just don’t see her editorially in Vogue.
On the flip side, while Analeigh is so commercial, Marjorie is 99% High Couture fashion. I can see her down a runway or a Vera Wang spot in Vogue. (A side note, Marjorie seems nervous with person to person interaction…she doesn’t “freak out” when cat-walking in front of people so I think her nerves run deeper than the panel sees.)
If Marjorie doesn’t win this…(and I think she will), it will be strictly because of her inability to control her nerves. At the end of each episode when the the models are posted and the loser disappears…it’s getting to the point where I can pay attention to who is left and Marjories photo is amazing…look at it next time.
McKey IS getting better but you must realize that there is less competition. Bring ALL the girls back for that photo shoot…I don’t think McKey would’ve stood out. I just don’t know what it is about McKey that I don’t like. I think it might be her hair!! McKeys features are so strong, her eyes are so strong, her lips are so full, she has super high cheek bones…perhaps a softer shade color or long hair would’ve been a better balance for her. But I don’t see Grace Jones or Annie Lennox prancing around in girlie fashion..neither do I with McKey and that’s what she’s trying to do. Something just doesn’t click.
Sam. A spit-fire. I’ll be sad to see her go because I admire her no-nonsense surf girl attitude. And that edgy haircut is the best one to date but she needs to be careful because sometimes she looks like Carol Brady if she doesn’t use styling products in it. But I love it when it hangs down her face. She’s good but she’ll come in 3rd:
Winner: Marjorie
R.Up: Analeigh
3rd: Samantha
4th: McKey
We’ll see next week.
@ Michael
Good analysis. However, I don’t think Marjorie will win. She’s a good high fashion model but I don’t see her pulling off seventeen magazine spreads, tacky covergirl Wal-Mart ads and my life as a covergirl. Also, it will be hard for her to build “confidence” in these last two episodes. Tyra will definitely not choose a frail girl like Marj.
I would love to see Analeigh go next but she’s the most covergirl commercial model left.
I would also like to see Mckey and Sam in the final two but I’m convinced that Analeigh might win it all. Then again, she’s now the fan favorite and we know Tyra has a track record of not going win fan favorites. In that case, it’s an open race for sam, marj and Mckey.
We’ll see what happens next week. My money is on Marjorie going home.
True, I forget the Covergirl prize…and that would be up Analeighs alley more so than Marjorie. I would imagine that Cover Girl has atleast SOME or recommendation on who should win and I don’t see them leaning towards Marjorie.
My winner track record for these elimination programs are close but I’ve only hit one. (I only post my predictions if I’ve seen every episode.) The only one I’ve correctly scored on was Carey Underwood for Amer. Idol.
My prediction, last ANTM was completely off: I was convinced…CONVINCED that Claire would win until they made her put on the stupid Square Dance costume (I would’ve walked off the set!!).
As I read the posts…my WANT for Marjorie to win fogs the reality that she may not. BUT…it’s the prediction I made since the 1st show so I’m sticking to it.
This is a kewl ANTM debate…love this show!
@ Michael in NC
I know, this is an awesome debate. It will be logical for Marj to win because she is actually an amazing model ( even though I think Mckey has been outshining the rest of the girls in this last quarter of the show). However, you fail to understand that Tyra and her judges don’t rely on “logic” when selecting a winner. If you have been keenly watching all the past cycles of ANTM, you will notice that Tyra always has an agenda for each cycle. The crowned winner fulfills Tyra’s agenda even though she is not necessarily the best model.
Saleisha over Jenah?
Whitney over Anya and Katarzyna?
You even mentioned Claire who was kicked off the show for a single mistake after consistently doing good.
Why would Tyra even recruit girls like Nikeysha and Sharaun who look nothing like models? to fulfill the drama agenda of the show of course
…and Joslyn? she’s a nice girl but it’s obvious that she’s not a model…
and the list goes on…
ANTM is never logical when choosing winners so its wise if you refrain from using logic or a realistic approach to predict winner. I know that sounds foolish but hey, blame it on Tyra. That is why ANTM is nothing a joke to the fashion industry. Jade over Mollie Sue? need I say more?
So true. There are so many behind the scenes beuracracies that we aren’t privy to as viewers it’s futile to predict a winner…but it’s fun to play the odds, I suppose.
And speaking of the absence of logic. How about a spin off of ANTM hosted by Jay Manuel: ANMM – Americas Next Male Model. (Tyra as creative director, respectively, same judges, etc.) Same platform…nothing like the tacky J. Dickenson Agency or Make Me a Super Model.
OH…and one last thing. BRING BACK TWIGGY!!
My all-time favorite photo shoot in ANTM history is the 7 Deadly Sins shoot in Cycle 4. Brilliant, Jay.
Michael, McKey’s flawed physical trait that you can’t quite place your finger on is her ears. She has big ears that stick out like Prince Charles. Otherwise her face is very high fashion, very stunning.
It’s funny that Hollywood BS pointed out that Analeigh will win because she is the most commercial and will fit with the prizes. I completely agree, however, Tyra and the other judges want the girls to be more high fashion. But the prizes are for Cover Girl and Seventeen magazine, which is FAR from being high fashion! I don’t get it, either give prizes that relate to the high fashion industry or stick to commercial modelling. And there is nothing wrong with commercial modelling either. That’s where you make the most money as a model.
My prediction on who’s going to win: McKey. But you never know with Tyra…
I believe you’re right, Addict. Boyish, gawky, clumsy…I GET that and am always forgiving of it since, these days, it’s almost an advantage. I’ll pay closer attention and let you know.
By the way…for those interested…have you guys/gals seen Nigels’ modeling photos from “back when”? OMG – hubba, hubba.
Another note. Whitneys Cover Girl campaign…I don’t recall any of the other models having these. I LOVE these commercials…everytime they come on I’m like “there’s my girl!”.
Last note: ANTM New York was the BEST. The opening sequence, the “Feedback” theme song, the Bob Fosse art direction, the black and white grainy video, ::sigh:: L*O*V*E*D it. By the way…does anyone know if Tyra has ever released “Wanna be on top?” as a single. I can’t find it on Itunes to save my life. Caio4now.
i think all these young women are beautiful and brave for putting themselves out there for such an adventure! way to go ladies!!! the pics look great!
