ANTM 11.03 “The Ladder of Model Success” Preview II

Below is a preview of the photo shoot in the next episode of America’s Next Top Model. It looks like Lauren Brie really works it when it’s her turn in front of the camera and Elina causes Jay to yell “Oh my god” several times. Could it be that this cycle will develop actual models?
Based on the shots we see here, what do you think the photo shoot concept is?

To answer that:
You know, sometimes I think the models here on Top Model only looks great because their competitors are just bad models. I don’t know how to say this, so I’ll try to explain more.
Like when I watched Make Me a Supermodel, I was rooting for Holly because she’s the best out of the girls there. But when they met Jessica Stam, it really struck me that even if she’s the best of the bunch, she can’t really compare to actual top models out there… (Comparing Stammy to Holly was just…) It’s the same with a lot of top models contestants I think, after the competition is over, even those who look great during the competition fail to make it in the real world of modeling.
Anonymous, I agree with you somewhat. I think your example is perfect in the case of CariDee. She kicked a$$ on ANTM, but she failed to impress after the show was over. As for Holly on Make Me a Supermodel, you have to remember that she had never done modelling before and that she still needs experience. Jessica Stamm has been in the business for a while so she knows what is needed to know. Holly did extremely well in the competition and if you look at her portfolio online at NY Model Management, you’ll see that she takes absolutely brilliant shots. She’s going to go far in this industry because she’s that good. However, she does need to work on her diction. As soon as she opens her mouth, you’re like uhhhhhh maybe I shouldn’t hire her. But I’m still rooting for her – she was my favourite from the beginning. I can’t wait for Make Me a Supermodel Season II!

Top model addict, I am pretty impressed by Holly’s pictures on NYMM website, but she’s not edgy enough to be on the editorial board it seems. She doesn’t even have a showcard this season. And to do runway, she needs to get rid of “accept her weight as she is” attitude. Do a diet and workout! That 36″ hips are going to haunt her…
When she opens her mouth, I don’t really care because most top models right now are so bad at English. I am not an English speaker so the only thing that matters to me is that she has good attitude and can give a good job. Plus, I quite understand Holly’s English. Adrianne (ANTM C1) and Eboni (AusNTM C2) – now that’s what I don’t understand. But the thing that bugs me with Holly is that when she speaks, her mouth moves in an unflattering way.
To tell the truth, out of all the girls I like Shannon the best. Yes, Holly is the more photogenic one and is a better walker, but Shannon has the more editorial look.
BTW, Lauren Brie is poor man’s Tanya Dyagileva IMHO. I like Tanya D though, so I’ll support Lauren Brie, but I believe Lauren Brie isn’t what Tyra is looking for this cycle, therefore she shall not win…
