Eliminated First: Fatima
Fashion Show: Versace
Winner: Whitney
Can Anya look and act the part of a top model? Can Fatima listen up and learn? Can Whitney fix her flaws? Who writes these questions?
I wonder if they’ll keep the new song and intro look for the next cycle. I really like it, it feels a lot more modern and fashion-forward than the old one. Or maybe they’ll mix it up again.
We open with Anya talking about how her confidence has increased over the course of the show. Fatima’s interview is along the same lines, but her journey begins back when she was in Somalia. As far as hard-knock stories go, Whitney will never be able to top that. We do learn that Anya and Whitney are friends and that Whitney wants them to be the top two. I seriously doubt Whitney could beat Anya in a walk off. A commercial, yes, but not a walk-off.
The girls find out it’s Covergirl commercial time and already the editors are highlighting Anya’s speech problems. Things do not look good for our blonde pixie.
Saleisha finally shows up. It only took her eleven episodes. She’s going to give the girls priceless make-up and modeling advice.
Anya is overwhelmed. Again, I worry. Like, she’s crying. It looks like she’s going to shoot herself in the foot. I hope not. Buck up Anya!
Fatima is up first. She has the script pretty much down pat but struggles with making it sound natural.
Whitney is second and she struggles even more than Fatima does. She doesn’t have the lines down pat and seems nervous. However, she’s a lot more natural than she was during her last commercial, so kudos for her on that.
Anya is last. She, like all of the girls, looks gorgeous. They all look like models during this shoot! Anya doesn’t struggle as much as they set her up to do, so I breathe a big sigh of relief.
I’m really excited to see their Covergirl commercial pictures. It’s going to be the Times Square Billboard, which is cool. Have they ever done that before?
Whitney’s interviews are becoming more natural and less evil. I’m glad to see that, but it’s totally symptomatic of being in the final three. All the girls are fairly endearing during their interviews this episode. Awww.
It’s panel time and Tyra calls the girls “the top three baddest chicks club.” WTF?
Whitney’s commercial is judged first and it’s okay.Tyra says she looks stiff and Paulina says she was a Miss America pageant. I think she looks stunned in her photo, but the judges really like it.
Fatima gets judged second. Her commercial is better than Whitney’s, I thought, but Paulina rips into her too. Her photo is amazing but this time it’s Tyra’s turn to be negative. Not cool.
Anya is last and her commercial is clearly the worst. But Tyra calls it the best. Anya’s clearly the most natural and the judges pick up on that and rave about it. However, they call her photo flat and Paulina goes as far to say she looks “stupid” in her photo.
It’s actually pretty hard to tell who is going home. Tyra reveals that the girls get to talk in the Versace show, which is huge! no high school gym! No random fashion show where the only spectators are paid actors and the judges! No pretending to be ghost brides! I’m grateful, Tyra, truly grateful.
After the judges deliberate incoherently, it’s time to send someone home. The first to go on to the final two Anya! Fatima and Whitney are left to duke it out in the bottom two. The judges feel they don’t know Whitney and that Fatima doesn’t really get what it mean to be a model yet. Therefore, they keep Whitney.
I wonder how Donatella will feel about this.
Fatima has a really gracious exit and I wish her all the best.
Back at the house, Anya interviews that Whitney is beautiful when she is vulnerable and Whitney interviews about how hard it is to be plus-sized.
The girls then get to shoot the July cover of Seventeen magazine and the photographer is Nigel Barker. The photo shoot theme is 4th of July. The photo shoot goes really, really quickly, which makes sense. Versace is a huge name and they need to dedicate tons of screen time to it.
I love how Jay takes credit for the entire concept for the show. Do you really think that’s true? And why is Saleisha leading the show when tons of other true supermodels would be psyched to do it? Did Donatella know what she was getting into? But then again, Donatella is delightfully tacky. This is probably right up her alley!
I’ll never understand why the judges get as much attention as the designers during these runway shows. Saleisha opens the show and she looks amazing.
Anya struggles with her second dress but Whitney looks amazing in the pink dress.
Both Whitney and Anya look amazing on the runway. I’m impressed.
At the panel, both the girls look like Versace Barbie.
The judges say that Anya didn’t bring it as strong as she could have on the runway. Paulina tries to defend her but Miss J shoots her down. Miss J is all about Whitney.
The portfolio showdown results in both girls get good and bad feedback. I seriously don’t know who is going to win, but my money is on Whitney.
During deliberation, it’s clean that Paulina is gunning for Anya and Tyra is gunning for Whitney. Nigel and Miss J seem torn.
When the girls come back, Tyra decides that it’s appropriate to announce the winner in baby speak.
And Whitney wins.
Anya exits gracefully and positively. And Whitney exits again with talk about how she’s so different and all the hardship she has overcome. Because being a size 10 is so damn hard.

I think the opposite of the judges, Whitney’s commerical rocked while her picture sucked. Her commerical was not pagentry, it was awesome and way toned down since the italian commercial (and I loved her italian commercial I did not see fake in it at all!) Fatima’s picture was awesome while her commercial was okay (at least she memorized all the lines)Her eyes were open the perfect amount, probably one of the best Cover Girl shots of all 10 cycles! Anya was just okay overall. I’m not used to them showing the commercials with the bloopers on panel. Overall, this was the most boring final runway over all 10 cycles. Neither of them had a FIERCE walk like most final girls do. Both had awkward walks, and Whitney arms were swinging all over the place. Still confused who I want to win (including fatima even since she is gone now) I feel like Tyra set Whitney up for a win because of the NO go-sees, but Anya has been rocking it this whole time, and that they called her name first just because of her whole portfolio, I mean, her cover girl sucked.

First of all Whitney’s commercial was stiff. She didn’t flirt with the camera; she just stood there like a tree stump.
Second of all, Whitney’s runway walk was HORRIBLE. Nobody walks in Versace gowns like that. The walk was too sexy, too bouncy and over the top.
In all fairness, Whitney should have gone before Fatima and ANya should have won but we all know Tyra had an agenda. This was the season for a plus-size girl to win so…Tyra wanted the story of “I was made fun of at school for being fat and now look at me? I am beautiful too…bla bla bla bla”. Tyra wanted the story and she got it.

I am so disappointed in this season finale!!!! WHITNEY SUCKED SO MUCH!!! She always does the same poise every time (hand on the butt, mouth open, eyes up to the light), there is no variety in what she does. Every time I see her that pose I want to just shout out “There’s no hamburger up there close your mouth and do something else!!!” Also who is going to cast her in a fashion show, as all the designers said on the show she has a great face but her body leaves more to be desired. Anya won all the competitions and her walk wasn’t the best, but they also gave her the most restricting dresses. She looked amazing the whole time and she is going to be the biggest thing since Jaslen won!!! So screw you Tyra Banks, just because you had this new curvy woman revolution because of your bad photo and “KISS MY FAT ASS” speech. I am very disappointed and I’m tired of the agenda on this show. I want it to go back to the days when it was decided based on the talent and photos of the models. Don’t get me wrong Whitney is good but she defiantly not AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL.
I LOVE ANYA!! although i dont really like Whitney i guess i have to admit that she really did look gorgeous on the runway, but theres something i just dont like about her….I wish Anya would have walked better, Good luck Anya!! Congrats Whitney!

Anya’s nose was like a beak and here speach was annoying like a little whining baby who can barely speak. I did not like Whitney so much because of her personality but she was far better than Anya.
Ok Whitney needs to close her mouth in pictures. It’s totally annoying, what’s she waiting to get crammed in there anyway? Cute little Anya grew on me throughout the season so I was hoping she’d win. I don’t think either of them were “supermodel”y on the runway, but Anya took really good pictures. Paulina is a jerk, I liked Twiggy better. whitney rocked on the runway. she won me over in the last episode. I thought that fatima and anya were definitely going to be the top two, but i’m happy how it turned out.
I love anya so much… But,she lost this competition…!!! Why Whitney must win the America’s Next Top Model Cycle 10… Honestly, I’m sure that she will be the worst winner in antm history…….

I knew Whitney was going to win, Tyra just needed to have a “plus” sized model… poor Anya–hell, poor Katarzyna! But oh well, they’ll have careers in the future…
BTW–I doubt this was a Versace show in the real sense of a show. This looked nothing like Versace shows I’ve seen on tv and SALEISHA opened it? It was a show that Versace gave clothes to for advertisement, not a Versace “show”
This show is absolutely nothing like the first seasons. It used to be about actually becoming a model. Now its just a reality show and the winner gets a Seventeen magazine cover? Big deal… Pus Whitney seemed like the phoniest person I have ever seen. I guarantee no one “mocked her” for being fat. Shes like 5′10″ about what…145lbs? That’s not fat. It’s just a tall, normal girl. With an emphasis on NORMAL. She does not look like a model. Is there even a full-figure market out there? Good luck with Lane Bryant and Sears Catalogs, Whitney!
At the beginning of the episode I was definitely rooting for Anya. She’s been doing consistently good. However, this episode made her look terrible. Anyway, at the beginning I was thinking they were going to choose Anya because when the judges like a certain contestant, no matter how they do, good or bad, they win. Remember Saleisha/Chantel, Jaslene/Natasha [Natasha did a way better job no matter what anyone says, she kicked off her skirt in the run way and made it look it happend on purpose thats amazing], Caridee/Melrose, YOANNA!!/Mercedes) ALL these girls were the final two and the one that got eliminated got the most praise for the final performance and overall performance was much better, however, the judges play favourites which is why it surprised me to see Whitney win.
The girl that should have won is definitely Katarzyna. They didn’t give her enough camera time EVER to get her warmed up. The shoot that she got eliminated on was AMAZING, I thought she had one of the best ones. She even asked Tyra what she wanted for her for the shoot and she brought what she wanted, thats caring. She was sweet, innocent and had a very powerful voice at that italian covergirl shoot no matter what ANYONE said.
This season really was terrible, Whitney definitely should -not- have won. Her pictures weren’t THAT strong. But then again, the photoshoots really sucked this season giving them near to nothing to work with.
Cycle 8 definitely blew me out of the water with everything. It was amazing and Tyra needs to channel that era lol.

Its kinda like the lesser of evils, because no one in the final 3 should have been in the final 3. The whole last show was really awkward, too bad Anya lost her shine. Why did Versace agree to be the ANTM show?
Because unlike normal ANTM runway shows, they showed every damn dress on every damn model instead of just the final two.
Who rocked the runway the best? Niether. Both had awkward walks, none walked fierce and Whit was swinging her arms all over the place
Whose overall portfolio was the strongest? Anyas! She did strong through out the competiton, she was so good, that they moved her up to final two when she finally sucked, like they wanted her to win or they knew she had the potential,but yet the don’t give her the win. Which she clearly deserved the win, she has done the best all freakin season? Tyra?

I just watched a marathon of Cycle 4, when Naomi won. That season was awesome because the photo shoots had “oompf” Each one was complicated with the girls having to concentrate on many things at once. Also, Tyra attended alot of the photo shoots and came to the house to talk to the girls, alot.
I think the worst thing about Whitney winning, is that the judges obviously didn’t care for her the entire season. It seemed to me, that early on they picked their three favorites, Lauren, Dominique, and Fatima, and put all of their energies into them.
I don’t mind them giving people a few extra chances, but it was obvious from early on that Lauren would never be able to do the runway to the death, that Dominique would never be a Cover Girl, and that Fatima doesn’t seem to have a grasp of what makes a good picture, but just produces great pictures because she’s so beautiful.
I felt that Whitney had a lot of potential, as did Anya, Kat, and possibly even Aimee and Allison if they had stuck around. Why didn’t Allison and Claire get the same amount of second chances as Dominique? Pure favoritism.
In the end, although I liked Whitney and I’m not disappointed that she won, I felt that Whitney’s win felt just as rigged as Salieshas because the judges obviously didn’t care about Whitney. I’m still not sure why they chose Anya over Fatima for the final two, but clearly they just picked Whitney because they wanted a plus size winner, and she was the best plus sized model they’ve had since Toccara (who should have made it much further than she did).
I agree that the past two season can’t compare to the earlier ones. I think Tyra should let Paulina take over, and just show up as a guest judge here and there. The girls clearly need someone who has more time for them. My favorite cycles were 3-6.
I did NOT want Whitney to win. Like some other people in this comment area, I feel like Top Model has become more about agendas and statements than about creating models.
Whitney was not beautiful to me in panel or in pictures. She looked a little trashy, honestly. I don’t mind the curves but her face, her attitude, and her phoniness were just too much for me.

I am honestly sooooo confused by this. Isn’t this show called America’s next top MODEL? That’s what I thought. A model isn’t someone who is “average,” they’re called models for a reason: because they’re tall, skinny, and unnaturally gorgeous. No offense to normal girls (i’m one myself)- but there is nothing special about being normal.
From the very beginning, no judge had anything bad to say about Anya. Whitney was in the bottom 2 3 or 4 times! You know something is wrong with that. WHATEV, Anya will go much father anyways. The girls who don’t win always get scooped up by better agencies.
This show is so rigged- it’s getting a bit disgusting. First Saleisha, now this. I suppose Tyra always does get her way- it is her show. Oh well.

Yes, it made the most sense to me. Fatima coasted along through the whole competition. She was lucky she had that 1 good shot week after week.

Because Tyra asked her to? Exposure is always a good thing.

Whitney certainly had the most energy, but she was WAY over-the-top. I just wish Anya would have had more in her. She should have known that it’s the runway walk in the last episode that makes or breaks you. You screw up the catwalk, you go home regardless if you had the best photos or not.

Yep. I’ve always loved Whitney because I’m also a plus-size girl and Anya has always has this effect on me even thought her accent was funny.

I’m not quite sure because some websites say that those dresses aren’t Versace but I do adore that pink number Whitney was wearing.

Definitely Whitney. Anya was too still. Whitney tends to swing her hands to much but that’s what makes her unique.
Whose overall portfolio was the strongest?
Anya. She has never been in the bottom 2 and her photos are always fabulous.
Who should have won ANTM?
If it was between Anya and Whitney I would pink Whitney. It is time ANTM has a plus-size winner. Her pictures are gorgeous.

I must be a little lost. But can someone tell me all the fine points about Season 9, how it was “rigged” and Saleisha winning? I’m not trying to argue, I just honestly want to know, I must not have been watching very closely.
i am completely dissapointed with the finals of ANTM. there is now way that whitney should have won especially over anya. i thought that they had gotten that disgrace of a cycle (9) that is. fatima and anya should have been the finalists. i am completely dissapointed. no offence to whitney but compared to anya and fatima she does not even register. just whn i thought the show was redeeming itself it just fell flat. 1st saleshia now whitney antm has now become a show for making statements and givin chances not for awarding 2 of the best models ive seen on the show. well it just goes to show that the winner will never be as sucessful as those with true potential case in point mollie sue and eleyse

whitney is just so…barbie/miss america. the only thing that mattered to her on the season was her looking “pretty.” it was so annoying last night when she kept going on and on about how girls used to tease and pick on her. hello, doesnt every girl go through that stage at some point in her life? get over yourself!
first of all, congrats whitney! for all the haters, she was a victim of reality tv editing. they made her out to be the bitch bc she wasnt afraid to stand up for herself or the other girls! I think shes beautiful (though that blond weave was a dumb idea, i thought she was classier as a brunette)
i really thought they were gonna go for anya, though ive been wrong about every winner! (is it me or are the judges that off from everyone else?) but i agree the judges were protecting anya and fatima the whole time. can we forget that fatima missed a whole photo shoot bc she was not responsible enough to get her papers in check?! and fatima always looks so dumpy at panel like she just rolled out of bed. at least dominique tried to dress up! and anya’s sweetness was starting to rub me the wrong way. too over-the-top, too fake-y. i think she would break her first week as a top model. at least whit has a backbone. and i agree- anya’s walk was def weakest. the skinny dress was unfair, but she looked uncomfortable. whitney was working it.
seriously? whitney is a gorgeous girl who looks amazing in photographs. anya sounded and acted like a moron throughout most of the cycle, and paulina was entirely right to say she looked stupid in her photo, because she did. she was a stereotype, not a model. and you know, people saying whitney won’t have a career…over half the female population of the united states (this is AMERICA’S next top model, in case you’ve forgotten) is whitney’s size or bigger. stop calling her a cow and think about how gorgeous she looked in the pink versace gown at judging. yeah, maybe she’ll work for lane bryant, but how is that any different from some scrawny girl like fatima getting a contract with forever 21? you make it sound like having a contract with a huge chain of stores is a bad thing.
I think its sad that we live in a world where more than half of the population of women is plus sized. It’s just unhealthy. I hate how skinny girls are now being attacked for having perfect bodies- some go too far in their quest for skinniness- but most are perfect and healthy sizes (not to mention beautiful.) Just because some fat girls are too lazy to get off their butts and stop eating so many chips, it doesn’t mean the standard of beauty has to be lowered for them. No wonder the rest of the world hates us- we’re ugly! Fat and cellulite is not beautiful for a reason- it’s gross and unhealthy.

I’m not trying to argue her but fat is pretty. Not like 180 pounds fat like the same weight about Whitney fat. When people say fat is ugly and thin is the best, I disagree. Have you seen Fatima’s underwear photo shoot? Her body looks absolutely disgusting. You were able to see her ribs. All I’m saying is that too skinny isn’t pretty and neither is too fat.

Whitney did seem fake but sometimes you have to fake it to make it but she was too fake. I told everyone she was going to win when they put her in the top. Now that a plus size girl won I’m glad! Skinny girls with their ribs all showing is unhealthy and for people to say Whitney is unhealthy they are haters. It’s a haters job to hate. If she didn’t win people wouldn’t be talking all that smack. Now that a big girl won people got everything to say. Well, I say good job Whitney, you got curves and you are a good size.
