And America’s Next Top Model is…
At the end of the night, after saying goodbye to Bre, the two final contestants, Nik and Nicole, stood side by side awaiting the judges comments.
After the usual ambiguous showing of judges’ comments (you know, the ones that say a lot but hint at nothing), Tyra faced the girls and revealed the judges’ decision: Nicole was to be crowned Miss Universe America’s Next Top Model!
Nik, on the other hand, was devastated to find out that she’d lost. She stated, “I want that. That was my goal, that was my dream, that’s what I want. I want people to know my name. I wanted to win so bad…. I don’t know–maybe it hasn’t sunk in yet that I’m not that girl.”
Well many people know her name, and it’s quite likely someone else will give her a deal doing something or other. Kim is already guest-starring in Veronica Mars, so life for the “losers” can’t be all that tough.
Regardless, congratulations to Nicole for her win. I can’t say that I’m entirely excited. I think I preferred the contestants that got booted early on, but it’s great for her.
Nicole’s words after her revealed victory, “I was always the girl who never got that much attention, and now here I am. I’m a CoverGirl, I’m a Ford Model…. Throughout this whole competition, I just feel like I’ve grown so much, not only as a model, but as a person. This is the beginning of something great for me.”
Guess we’ll find out if that’s true!

I used to love Top Model but now I’ll never watch it again how in hell did Nicole win? She wasn’t even Cover Girl of the week not even once. I hope her modeling career tanks just like her dull pictures..

Oh don’t take it so personally! If one could be more objective than the following isn’t so shocking:
Tyra just announced that Nicole will be the very first model from the show to pose in couture… AND SHE’LL BE DOING IT FOR A WHOLE YEAR! The photographer for Elle, Gilles B., loves her so much that he picked her to do the couture spreads for an entire year.
So, she’s already the most successful model ever in the show’s history and she hasn’t even started!
Congrats Nicole, Tyra, and America’s Next Top Model for this victory and shutting up the cynical naysers who said nobody on the show would ever amount to anything big.

I am unhappy at the final choice that was made. I honestly believe that Nik deserved to win, because she portrayed herself as an honest, and a compassionate human being, being fair throughout, and beautiful both inside and outside. These are attributes that should be embraced and not criticised. Unfortunately, the network, Tyra Banks, Twiggy (especially), and the other judges seem to send the message to the public, that it is not okay to be a good person, and that somehow, this should not be a characteristic of a top model. Have we completely regressed as human beings, or is moral bankruptcy now the norm?
America’s next top model is no longer my cup of tea. I am definitely not going to waste my time watching the next series, since the judges haven’t the decency to be fair.
Nicole was extremely immature and I honestly don’t see her surviving in the fashion world.

Nicole did not deserve to win but the show can’t have three ethnic girls winners in a row. Duh…Anywho Nicole is such a brat and she will crack under pressure. Nik should have won. Of course Nicole will be doing alot of couture…She is what america and the rest of the modeling industry wants!

NIK TOTALLY SHOULD HAVE WON. Nicole is so dull. It’s not just about couture. Nicole’s couture, why cause she’s white and wicked thin? Whoohoo, so am I, but that doesn’t make me stand out. Welcome to White America!!! Miss. Tyra covered butt and ensured the continuation of her show. She could not have THREE women of colour win in a row. She would be called a racist. Of course that would not be the case if she had 3 white women win. Nik should have won and Tyra knows this and I am sure she is getting the flak from it. This would explain why she felt she had to give a reason for Nicole’s win on the reunion show. I will personally not be watching ANTM, and I know several people that will not. Nicole did not win because she deserved it - of course she can “model” - she is a blank canvas that can be molded and will put Tyra on the map - she can go where models of colour cannot. And Tyra of all people is helping this industry continue to discriminate. She had a judge on the show, Twiggy whose idea of a model is a waife white girl, that praised every plain Jane white model this season and never gave true credit to Nik or Bre - even when they excelled. Nik has a chest and is striking - not in line with Twiggy’s idea of a model. I am truly shocked at Tyra’s decision and even though I am sure thinks this will help her, it has ulimately hurt the show. She has lost a large fan base and that is sad because before this I thought this was one of the few reality shows that was genuine.

I did not think that Nicole was going to be Americas next top model.I thought it was going to be Bre then I thought it was going to be Nik.The person who took the best pictures this season was Kyle.I will tell everybody the girls in order of elilmination Ashley,Ebony,Cassandra,Sarah,Diane,Coryn,Kyle,Lisa,Kim,Jayla,Bre,Nik,Nicole.Tyra Banks is always picking white people to be americas next top model.She needs to stop.

Geez, everyone just chill out. I am part black; why does everyone always have to make everything about race?? It has nothing to do with race. The best girl won. Nik is beautiful but she isn’t high fashion. Nicole is so beautiful, and she has a bigger shot at being a true working model. Nik is not tall enough and lacks versatility. Just get over it, already.

ughhh i really was obset with the judging this year. i mean i thought jayla should have gone way earlier etc. i totally thought nik was wayyyyy more fierce then nicole. yeah i will admit nicole is a “pretty girl” but im sorry, she just wont cut it as a “top model” i was actually quite stunned about the desicion really. but hey it is sorta expected i mean they did it to Mercedes in cycle 2 was it? i mean she just got toally ripped off. Hey they were all beautiful, it isn’t necessary to label people you don’t personally know ugly names. I can say that because I personally know Nicloe, she was my daughters former roommate at college. The judges called the shot and I don’t believe race was ever a factor. You have totally mislabled a warm kind person. Not intended to hurt anyones feelings, just want people to know what kind of person she is. She handled the case of being accused of theft with great maturity unlike some others in the show. The world is a better place without racial prejudices, it should never rare its ugly head.

I too thought Nik should have won, but yeah Nicole did a great job. One thing that bothered me was how Tyra said they were looking for a “high fashion model”. Isn’t that a bit insulting to the other girls who didn’t make it? Because they simply weren’t “high fashion” enough? If they were looking for high fashion models from the beginning, shouldn’t they base their decision on who’ll be in show on that? Their reasoning is extremely… stupid to me. It’d be like if Nik and Nicole were there in front of the judges, and they chose Nik and their reasoning was “We’re looking for a lingerie model. Sorry Nicole.”
Hope that made sense. One thing’s for sure, I am definitely going to look for Nik on covers etc. She rocked :)

First off, it truely saddens me that all of these people are insulting some of the contestants from the show and saying mean things like “I will never watch the show again”. Maybe some people wanted Nik to win, but I’m sorry that didn’t happen so get over it. I LOVED Nik and Nicole and I thought it was obviously one of the most difficult decisions in Top Model history. I didn’t have a favorite when it came down to Nik and Nicole because I knew no matter what it would be a great decision and for the person who loses, they will still be famous. Even though Nik didn’t end out on top, it’s obvious she will do great things. As for Nicole, I am so proud of her and so happy that she won and I wish her the best of luck.
P.S. screw all you haters you guys are just pathetic so go get a life.

Like everyone on this Message Board, Nik should have picked as the winner. Nik was very professional, took awesome photos, did awesome in the CoverGirl commercial shoot, and I liked her “bouncy” runway walk. Nicole is too whinny and complains about everything! She’s very immature and does not do well under pressure. Plus she’s very snobby and bratty! I wish Nik (TRUE WINNER) the best in the modeling world and hope that she hits it BIG! I don’t care if the person’s white, black or whatever! If the person is a great model, then that person should win! Regardless! I also thought Lisa should have been a winner too despite her weirdness. She had spunk and did wonders in her photoshoot. Nik - you ROCKED ANTM! :)

Nik is not a good model! First of all she cheated to get on the show. She modeled with me at Elite here in Atl, she had much more experience than she let people think. She is openly gay and portrayed herself full of lies on antm. The rules for the show stated that if you are signed to a major modeling agency you can’t compete so I couldn’t understand how Nik broke these rules. The girls from Elite here in Atl were joking on how she lied to tyra and some how ended up on antm. Nik was a professional model before she came on the show…. Amazing how america was tricked.

i do not like nicole to me she looked plain and her personality was really boring.by watching antm 5 again i could tell that tyra was rooting for nicole since the beginning.tyra even said that she loves nicole’s look because she reminded her of a girl that she use to work with a long time ago.Tyra didn’t care if nik took good photos r not she jus made her get to the finalist already knowing who was going to win she does that in almost every season espically in antm 9.and tyra was making a big deal about nicole’s photo when they had to stand out in the crowd with the indian clothes.i thought her photo was boring i didn’t see anything special about it. even ms.jay said he didn’t see anything special about it.I personally think tyra made a big deal about that photo is because she didn’t want to call nik’s name first again because nik had a great photo and she is always being callled first.
