Adrianne Curry Vs. America’s Next Top Model

February 8, 2007 by Ingrid

It’s no secret that Adrianne Curry is bitter and angry about her days on ANTM. I can understand why she would be, being that the show didn’t live up to its promises or her expectations, but it’s not like she’s a washed up nobody cleaning toilets for a living. So, ANTM must have done *something* for her. Though, I can see why she would be angry.

“We were told the winner would be an instant millionaire, that our faces would be plastered everywhere in Revlon ads. None of which turned out to be true … I still haven’t got paid for the work I did for them!” steamed Curry.

Miss Curry is super mad at the supermodel show, blasting them on her MySpace blog, saying “… they had no money … no clue what they were doing … all they had was mind f***ing us for good tv [sic].” Adrianne also claims that the girls hardly slept during filming, were kept hungry for long periods and were crammed into small quarters to guarantee drama. The Revlon campaign “turned out to be only a day’s work at a convention.” Not so fabulash!

It’s never easy being the first.

i feel bad for her because she really deserves to be reconize!! i mean what did she do wrong!!!

  2. Latasha says:

tyra tells these girls that after they leave her womb they have to work their azz off, i mean she cant carry them like babies in the fashion world, u have to stand on ur own 2 feet to make it! I think she just blames tyra for her own unsuccessful life. If it wasnt for tyra her face wouldnt even be on television! Grow up adrienne

  3. Josie says:

Adrianne should thank tyra if she wasn’t on antm she would not have the life she has now, her life started with antm it gave her the celebrity to go on the other show where she meet her husband hello girl recognize and say sorry to tyra and stop complaining.

  4. lynda darleen says:

no where on the show did they say that she would be an instant millionaire . was 100,000.00 contract, spread in magazine and a contract with agency.im sure she got what she was promised. besides look at her now .she should be thankful for what she has.but i still love her.

  5. Going onto a reality show you know its going to be drama and pressure… but she seems to be doing great now…
She deserves better treatment, but its part of the tv world now days lol.

  6. Weigi says:

First off Josie You need to learn how to spell Before you can talk shit about someone you dont even know and Latasha wouldnt you be mad if you won ANTM and didnt get all the prizes you were promised? So go fuck yourselfs and get a life. Yeah she did get famous for being on the show but at the same time look what they did to her. She didnt get shit from them and they didnt even help her after that fact so she did end up having to stand on her own and make a name for HERSELF. Take the time to think about things before you go on writing trash about someone that makes you look stupid unless you are!

  7. ctea says:

she shouldn’t blame tyra so bad like that but i do think she should get everything that’s promised to her..she has the right..she’s the winner after all.

  8. pokemon says:

what an asshole!! you shouldn’t blame tyra on all ur “sufferings” in life. you should be thankful that at the very least, they still choose you to be the winner. Actually i really want shannon 2 win, i don’t think you deserve the title!!

  9. Anonymous says:

Wow – if that is real then that’s sad. I can’t believe ANTM wouldn’t deliver on their promises, that’s just sad!

Congrats on winning anyway – tisk tisk Tyra and ANTM.

  10. Blake Lively says:

Now that I think about it, I’ve never actually seen a Top Model winner in an ad…not even for the campaigns they advertise on the show.
The most fame they ever get, is recognition at the local deli…where they’re most likely working.

  11. Josie says:

I’m all late with this comment, but since I have a life. I don’t have time for this, but anyway. Weigi what are you talking about or maybe your Adrianne uneducated and ungrateful and I stand by what I said, if you didn’t get what was in the contract that’s what lawsuits are for so start one and stop complaining.

  12. diana says:

i think andrienne is speaking up and telling america what goes on behind the scenes and she takes the heat for that, but she stands by what she believes in and that is great. i believe her when she spoke up about not getting paid. and yes, she has walk and go to the go sees on her own, but still she should be paid. she is very outspoken and that is ok!

  13. Diana B. says:

hey, i have never seen tyra banks in a picture in a magazine so why expect to see the contestants on amntm in one. haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  14. Claire says:

instant millionare in ANTM? she’d kidding right?

  15. Isabel says:

first of all, i don’t even believe that this is true. it’s just common sense, if she didn’t get her prices, then she should have sued. it would be easy to do so given that tyra said the actual prices on the show.

second, what is she complaining about? she joined a reality show, of course it’s gonna be challenging. especially being the first cycle, there is bound to be some misses.

third, no one said anything about guaranteed millions! the prices were simply opportunities.. it wasn’t guaranteed stardom.. it’s still up to you..

lastly, the show is in its 13th cycle.. it’s successful for a reason..

  16. Isabel says:

    @blake lively:

are you serious? you’re probably reading men’s health magazine.. you can google some of their names.. a lot of them are booking jobs like crazy.. surely, they’re no giselle bundchen but they’re definitely not unemployed.

  17. Mina says:

From what I’ve heard, Curry had apologized to Banks but Banks has not accepted the extended olive branch. Anyway, girls who want to be on the show should be realistic, a winner can only be given so much. To be a real successful model, employers and to some extent the public is going to decide ultimately whether their career ends up a pipe dream or a reality, but it’s naive to believe that just because you win doesn’t mean you don’t have to work for it, i.e. “Top Model” or anyone related to the show can guarantee a successful modeling career if people don’t want to use you.
Still the fact is that being on the show is still an absolutely great opportunity. It’s an opportunity to get some experience, work with some great photographers, create a portfolio, meet and begin networking with a few people in the industry, and get great exposure. While being on the show longer, i.e. getting eliminated later or winning, provides more opportunity, the fact is that winning just gets you a step of the others, but it’s still going to require hard work to get any further- what girls do with the opportunity is up to them.
One thing that irks me off a bit is this comment, “girls hardly slept during filming, were kept hungry for long periods and were crammed into small quarters”. I mean what did these girls think modeling entailed? You have to be a hot-shot to get the star treatment. The girls are deluded if they think they have risen to such status right after the show. One of my criticisms of the show is the fact that it looks like it has the potential to spoil the girls into actually believing they’ll be living in huge mansions and riding pink limos.
