French designer Jean-Paul Gaultier recently opened one of his fashion shows to plus-sized models, and the decision was the inspiration behind today’s Tyra Banks Show. In today’s show, Tyra held a modeling competition featuring plus-sized models.

“You do not have to be super stick skinny in order to model,” Contactmusic quoted Banks, as saying.

All wannabe models competing for the first Thick + Sexy Top Plus-Size Model crown are required to be size 18 and above, and they all tipped the scales at over 200 pounds.

Last week’s episode was really depressing for me because I really wasn’t expecting for Michelle to get sent home. She was my favorite, and she was awesome, and it sucks that she felt the need to sacrifice herself for Amanda.

I really hope that’s not the last of Michelle, though. She’s got amazingly natural talent and I’d love to see more of her.

Looking ahead to next week’s episode, The Futon Critic reveals the following:

The models hit the foreign streets with their portfolios to meet local designers. One model has a breakdown when she gets lost in the city. At the photo shoot with Nigel Barker, the girls face off against an angry bull while striking dramatic poses. One model makes a comment to Nigel that she later regrets. Pancho Saula, Director of Elite International serves as guest judge.

Interesting news from TVland. Eva Pigford has now changed her name to Eva Marcille (her middle name), and has fired her managers, Benny Medina and Tyra Banks.

Her reasons? She wants a “fresh start.”

Well, this is probably a very smart move by Eva. And the name ‘Eva Marcille’ is definitely an improvement.

So…. congratulations?

* One Tree Hill and America’s Next Top Model have proven to be a great team, and combined both shows have brought in some of the highest ratings on The CW thus far. So, it makes sense that Top Model will be popping-up in Tree Hill next week with a cross-over episode. On Top Model the girls will go through an intense acting challenge, the model who expresses herself the best lands a role on One Tree Hill directly after as Brooke’s “Clothes Over Bro’s” model for the T.A.R.T. fashion show.
